Loved the place, we were there during very high water so didn’t get to really enjoy the river but the yard is big and private and has direct access to the river. I was visiting my daughter at JMU and the commute was super easy. Loved it! The interior furnishings are modest but my daughter and I had a great time.
Our family drove from Michigan to meet us at this cabin.( We are Virginia Locals) Cabin was perfect for all of us to be comfortable. There was 8 of us on this getaway and there was plenty of space for all of us and the owners stocked the kitchen with everything you need to feed a large crew like ours. Cabin has comfortable beds, great river location, beautiful back deck and fantastic fire pits one by the river and the other on the lawn so you can enjoy your evenings as much as you will enjoy your days here. Owner has done great job remodeling this cabin and he is extremely accommodating. We will return to this cabin soon and I highly recommend this property to everyone!

About the host
Hosted by Jeff Cork
We are from Northern Virginia and, during our dating years, loved escaping to the Shenandoah for camp and kayak adventures. After marrying and 4 kids later, we wanted a family getaway that allowed the kids to share our love of the Shenandoah. We venture there as a family to kayak, fish, camp, explore and enjoy time together. It is also a perfect spot take advantage of Massanutten for golf, waterparks and skiing. We have done the tour of Luray's famous caverns and restaurants and are still making our way through Shenandoah National Park for exploring and hiking. There is always something to do or simply relax and do nothing at all. We are excited to share our home with our guests and help them to enjoy a great getaway.
Why they chose this property
We love the neighborhood for its privacy and the horse farms. It is great for taking a long walk around the 2 mile loop and enjoy the mountain views. We have many full time residents in the neighborhood that we often see out on the river, fly fishing or canoeing.
What makes this property unique
Our property is two combined lots so there is extra privacy and a ton of space for outdoor fun. We play football and soccer in the field area and set-up tents for the kids on nice nights. The river front is also the largest and nicest we have seen in the area. It is easy to get to with the built in stairs and level enough to set-up chairs and enjoy the peaceful river, fish or even have a riverside fire. We often wade into the water with our kids to swim, walk upstream and float down or find crawfish. We are also at the perfect spot to take a tube or kayak trip from the public put in near the dam or a longer trip from our house to the next public boat access point.
