Beautiful view!

Perfect for a short stay when you’re not planning to cook much. Driveway is a little steep for a senior but perfect location. I would highly recommend this studio.

Great Week Away!

This is a wonderful place for a married couple to stay! My wife and I were very comfortable in this "cottage", and we enjoyed relaxing and talking in the chairs on the deck porch with a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains! Everything in Lake Junaluska is easily available without steep walks. We very highly recommend this rental!!

rockwall review

Everything was great, I enjoyed my stay. I might would suggest that in the sitting/bedroom area, there possibly be a table/desk be put on the left wall coming in. This would be helpful for laptops or possibly to eat on. The chair could be moved at the end of the bed by the opening going into the kitchen. You could also watch TV better.

Thanks for your suggestions, Eddie. We always appreciate feedback from our guests! This unit was a challenge to furnish while still preserving the beautiful stone walls from the 1940's. I'll be on the lookout for something that could double as a desk/eating table for anyone who wants to eat while watching tv. Hope you'll stay with us again!

This property was very clean and as described, inside. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I could very easily hear the upstairs neighbors even though they weren't being noisy and because the walk from the sidewalk to the front door of this unit was slightly treacherous or could be for some people. It's an incline and only partially paved (with pavers) and the plants around the area were leaning over the pathway. If the path could be a little better kept up, that would be helpful. I stayed here while attending a retreat at Lake Juneluska and it was within easy walking distance. I appreciated being able to get away by myself at bedtime.

I’m so sorry we didn’t earn 5 stars. Based on your messages before arrival, it seems noise sensitivity was a concern. In the future, a lower-level unit with an apartment above might not be the best fit, and we do try to make this clear in our listing to help guests choose what works best for them. As for the pathway, we understand the incline can be a challenge—almost everything around here is on a hill! We moved here from flat Texas ourselves, so we get it. I appreciate your feedback about the vegetation; I’ll speak with our lawn maintenance team to ensure the path stays clear. Thanks for your input—it helps us improve!

Great location but accommodation a little issues hear and there.

The studio, I guess you would call it was ok. I’m assuming it was a garage conversion to a studio. The floor was concrete and had rugs throughout. Mostly to cover the cracks in the foundation. Not much of privacy when going to the restroom, but since it’s the wife and I was ok. The main issue was the bed arrangement. The headboard wasn’t attached so it banged against the wall everytime you flipped over to try and get comfortable. The bed itself was pushed completely against the wall so me a 52 year old guy had to climb across from the foot of the bed to get in and out. And to get up in the middle of the night to go woke my wife up everytime. Should have at least maybe centered it to at least be able to shimmy your way in. But there were pipes there and I now understand why it was where it was. But minor issues but wanted to point them out.

Thank you for your review, John. We appreciate that you gave us a 4 star rating especially given all your comments. We’ve made every effort to thoroughly describe this apartment in our listing so there are no surprises. The fact that a portion of it was once used as a garage is clearly stated; however, this space was actually the original living space for the couple who built it in the 1940’s. Although area rugs do cover some cracks in the stained concrete floors, we feel that adds to the personality of the space. The original stone walls are absolutely beautiful and to cover the floors with carpet to hide cracks would in our opinion have been a design mistake. As for bed placement, the pictures clearly show the bed is against a wall. Afterall, this space is only 350 sq ft. To include a full size laundry, a kitchenette plus a bathroom and bedroom in 350’, well, there’s only so much room to work with! The bed was not placed against a wall to conceal pipes as you describe. The bed had to go against a wall due to limited space, and the walls are all stone thus the headboard is not attached. Regarding your comment about the bathroom and privacy, there is a door to close the bathroom for privacy, so I’m puzzled by this. There really was a method to our madness in the design of this space 😊Our goal is for every guest to love their stay in every way, so I’m sorry that your stay wasn’t all you’d hoped it would be.
