The house was very nice. The house was everything that they advertised on Verbo. Nancy and Bill were amazing. The house was open and ready for us when we called to check in. Every night after dinner we went and walked the beach. Bill brought us a shovel and pail so we could go climbing.
This is a cozy, secluded cabin about 20 minutes away from Souris. The property was clean and well maintained - everything we needed was there from flashlights to toilet paper. The washer and dryer are in a shed at the back of the property and work great. The walk to the nearby beach is about 2 minutes and we rarely saw anyone there which was amazing. You will be adopted by the neighbours’ dog who’s a real cutie and loves to play in the waves! If you’re looking for a quiet escape from city life, this is a great choice.
We had a great stay here. Everything exceeded our expectations including the fantastic beach. We highly recommend this location for a quiet and relaxing vacation.
We had a restful stay at this quaint little beach house. Private beach, beautiful views, all we needed.

Couldn't be closer to the beach!
What a lovely island! The people are great, the food is great and The Beach House is so quaint and such a great location. This was our second time staying here and look forward to spending another summer here next year!
All was well with the cottage but a little unsure about arrival because calls to property manager went unanswered. But heard back the next day and enjoyed our stay immensely.
Great property. Very quiet and serene vacation cottage with a beach.
Thank you Grant.

wonderful
We loved the view and the idealistic cottage. It was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed to enjoy our stay. we look forward to the next time we come out and would for sure come back to this quiet beautiful place.
The house was very clean and the Adirondack chairs in the yard provided a nice sitting area overlooking water. The beach was very nice and and we had it to ourselves most of the time. Beach was only a two minute walk from the house. All in all it was a very nice rental property and I would recommend it to friends and stay there again myself.
What a fantastic location, just a few steps away from a fantastic quiet beach. The cottage is well equipped, with all that you need. (Floors are a bit slanted but it is part of the charm!). Friendly neighbourhood dog accompanied us to the beach: our son loved it. First time in PEI and we will definitely go back

An idyllic hideaway!
We had a wonderful stay at the Beach House! It was just what we were looking for - off the beaten path, quiet, picturesque, on the shore and very comfortable. We were within driving distance of everything we wanted to visit and do and the cottage was a great place to spend time too. Nancy and Bill were on hand to assist with anything we needed. We would highly recommend this lovely gem! Thank you for a lovely holiday home away from home!

This is a beautiful, serene place. Stunning views of the Gulf, incredible red beach, lots of herons.
The cottage is immaculate, nicely yet simply renovated with many comfortable and thoughtful touches. It is a truly serene, private spot with a view of the herons in the inlet right off the deck and a glorious beach all along Howe Bay for hiking, exploring and kayaking a stroll away from the end of the driveway. If you like tranquility and privacy off the beaten path, this is a wonderful place to spend some time rejuvenating with the world of exploring 20 minutes to an hour in any direction.

Wonderful Restful and Quiet Stay
This cottage was perfect! Walking distance to the beach, secluded and peaceful. We had the use of 2 kayaks and could paddle around the bay as well. You must have a car for the location. Souri is close by. It's about a 20 minute drive. Sally's Provincial Park is 5 minutes away. Great place to watch the tide pools! Highly recommend this vacation spot on wonderful PEI!
We just had a wonderful one week stay at this property. Everything is as listed. It is an older cottage with lots of charm. Don’t look past the crooked floor as it just adds to the charm. The private beach is out of this world. We would wake up each morning and go for an hour and a half long walk with no one in sight. Place charming, and has lots of character. It is extremely secluded and very private. We chose this location to be away from the hustle and bustle, but we literally drove the whole island over the course of the week. You are off the highway by about 15 minutes but for us that gave us the quietness that we were looking for. But if you rent this place, you can be afraid to drive into Charlottetown or Cavendish, etc..The days we went to Charlottetown Cavendish it was so busy, that we were very thankful to come back to our quiet place at the end of the day. Saint Peter’s Bay and Greenwich is close by and are amazing. Basin head is also not far away. We had an amazing day and will definitely return. The cottage had everything that we needed and more. Thank you Grant for an amazing time.

A lovely corner of PEI
If you`re interested in discovering a quiet, exceptionally beautiful corner of Prince Edward Island, this is it. It`s far from the heavily-touristed areas around Cavendish on the tranquil Northumberland Strait side of the island. The house is not large but was perfect for my wife and our two children in their 20s. The house affords remarkable privacy and lovely views from the front deck on the marsh and beach beyond, whether you`re interested in the herons in the early morning or the clammer who sometimes appears in late afternoon. Wonderful roads for joggers. Nothing is really close but Montague, Souris and Georgetown are not far if you`re looking for a supermarket or restaurant. A car is essential. The attractions of the eastern part of the island, including Singing Sands and access to the cross-island bike path are also within a half-hour drive. The house is well kept and the owner and manager are quick to respond if there are issues. Highly recommended.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Little Pond. With beach access just a short walk away, this property is an ideal getaway. The tranquil setting is perfect for relaxing and it’s secluded location is far from the hustle and bustle of the touristy parts of the island. Be sure to stop by the grocery store and stock up on provisions on your way as restaurants are a bit of a drive (but the good ones are worth it). And get mosquito repellent!!! It’s PEI and they’re horrible everywhere on the island. There is no AC but the evenings get cool enough and with the breeze off the water we didn’t mind. The laundry is located in a shed behind the property. Confirm the check out time, because we were told by the caretaker that it is 10AM even though our Vrbo email stated 12. Bill kindly worked with us, but it was a bit of a surprise on our final morning. If you’re looking to relax and unwind then “Whistling Water” is the place for you! You’ll have to visit to find out why we gave it that nickname. ;)

A Week of Joy and Beauty at an Ideal Beach House!
We are in our late 50's but everything I write is equally true for a family, with children of any ages. Upon arrival, the beach house at Durell Point was clean and welcoming, with a large deck overlooking the bay that the cottage sits on. Everything we needed, both for comfort and practicality, was in the cottage. We were well-informed about the property but could also easily reach people by phone if we had questions while up in PEI.The beach, with that amazing PEI red sand, is walkable during all tides but especially fun to walk at low tide when the beach goes out forever! This is the ultimate sand castle beach! The bay is quiet, clean and peaceful, filled with shore birds and sea life. There is a bakery nearby that is open most mornings.
Some of the highlights of our week that were all easily accessible from the cottage included:
*Biking between Dalvay and Robinson's Island on a wonderful bike path in PEI National Park. We had our own bikes but there are many rental places.
*The Greenwich Dunes: We went at the end of the day and watched the sunset on the water. We were literally the ONLY people there when we walked back across the floating boardwalk! Do not miss this place.
*Basin Head: A great beach-walk with "singing sand". If you go late in the afternoon it won't be crowded.
*Biking on the Confederation trail.
*Kayaking on a variety of bays. Gorgeous and peaceful. It is easy to find places that rent kayaks.
*Simply BE-ing together. We were so relaxed and comfortable at the beach house at Durell Point.
*There are many other places on the island that are quite easy to get to from the house, like Charlottetown and the Green Gables route. We just didn't choose to go to those places.
We hope to return to this beach house again in the future! The property is managed impeccably and we had everything we needed. You will love this place!

Beautiful location, we had a wonderful time
Overall, we are very glad we stayed here this year. The location is so quiet and secluded, and so close to the beach. The house is very nice, clean, simple, nicely furnished and has a nice deck. The only downsides where that the two bedrooms in the back had a musty smell and feeling to them, but perhaps that comes with being near the beach. The upstairs loft bedroom is wonderful, big, bright, and has good air flow. Proximity to the beach is amazing, but bring bug spray because there are mosquitos. The red dirt road leading the house is so nicely kept we felt like royalty each time we came back to the house. We had many wonderful walks on the beach and had it to ourselves most of the time, and a few times we met very nice people having a walk on the beach as well. If you want a quiet, secluded place to stay, and feel as if you have PEI all to yourselves, this is the place!

About the host
Hosted by Grant Silver
We've been traveling up to PEI for more than 30 years and look forward to going back to the island every summer.
Why they chose this property
My family has been going to PEI every summer for 30+ years and there is nothing more enjoyable than enjoying the great weather while playing a leisurely round of golf in the morning, then head back to the beach to relax and enjoy the calm surf. Then to end the day, head back to the Beach House and enjoy an iced tea on the deck of the Beach House overlooking the water.
