Paradise in Alabama

I hate to give away the secret, because then it won't be here if we ever come back. We stayed here for the Talladega race weekend, and it was the greatest decision we made. We aren't die-hard race fans, so we only wanted to go to the main race on Sunday. It was an hour and ten minute drive to get to the race, but then we had three days of total seclusion and relaxation here. This house is beautifully finished and comes with everything you need for a weekend of nothing. We played badminton and ate meals around the firepit in the yard. And the family room in the back was plenty big enough to hold all nine of us for evenings together all sprawled around the room. For the few things we forgot or needed, there is a well-stocked Dollar General about 15 minutes away. Other than that, it's nothing but peace and quiet. You do have to drive about 30 minutes to go out to eat, so we brought a lot of our own food. But if you want to stand outside barefoot grilling breakfast while watching the sun rise over the lake and the herons fishing in the reeds, then this is the place for you. Come and enjoy!!
