clean and cozy. Little snacks on arrival were a nice touch. Perfect location for easy access to city, shopping, Powells, Center Stage Theatre and Washington park/japanese garden/rose garden.
We enjoyed this unique home, with the beautiful woodwork and the cool oven & stove.
The location was perfect for walking to coffee, restaurants, shopping, and Providence Park. We will be back!
The home was utterly fantastic! Great location, BEAUTIFUL, convenient, beyond comfortable, all of us can’t stop raving about the home. Very convenient to everything Portland offers from a walk to Washington Park and beautiful gardens to food that is wonderful. I highly recommend the listing!
This is a beautiful and spacious property in a quiet neighborhood that is also close to great restaurants and shopping. We walked to Powell’s Books and to the International Rose Test Garden. Communication with the host was quick and friendly. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything you might need. Highly recommend.
This place is great!! Can't say enough about ALL the things the owners thought of. Only drawback is I will be priced out of this house very soon because it's so perfect.
Host was amazingly quick on responses and even appeared to make sure everything was OK. Local restaurants were good and there is a Trader Joe’s 2.5 blocks away. Very large place. Believe the pictures - there are steps, inside and out!
Excellent stay in Nob Hill this past weekend. Property is located fairly close to many amenities including multiple food, shopping opportunities, etc. A short walk is all that is required. The property itself is in immaculate condition and a historic, unique site to visit. Great communication with the host. A special thanks for allowing my family to drop our bags off before check-in time and check-in early after our morning flight. Thank you so much!
We loved the location & the house. The kitchen was warm & cozy which was nice in the Portland weather. Was a great launching spot to visit the Columbia River Gorge & the coast & Portland! Groceries (Zupan's) and restaurants (many) nearby. If you are out and about during the day, parking at the house isn't much of an issue as from 7 pm to 9 am street parking is free. We heard the family in the basement maybe once or twice & smelled their cooking one morning - otherwise we didn't know we were there & they certainly didn't bother or interfere with our activities.
Lovely home, practical, with lots of hiking trails near by
Lived here for a week and very much enjoyed both, the energy and conveniences of this place. A bottle of wine to greet us, a tea chest with organic tea selections, excellent instructions posted in the appropriate locations, very comfortable reclining sofa for TV watching and a quality sound system are just some of the positives that come to mind now, but I can go on. We loved cooking meals on the unique stove as well. The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet for getting a good night sleep after our Portland excursions. The only thing to be careful about when choosing this house is about 10 steps to get to the front door, which may be challenging for some people. However the rails are there for safe climbing. Much enjoyed and very thankful to the hosts for their prompt responses and support!
We just stayed at this wonderful property and couldn’t have had a more fantastic time! The property is located in the alphabet district on a quiet street with lots to do nearby. There is everything from shopping, great dining, a local movie theater, a delicious ice cream parlor and you have hiking in forest park right on your doorstep. Downtown is a short walk away too. Vishnu and Rekha have done a stellar job providing every amenity you could need and their property is both charming and spotlessly clean. There is a beautiful outdoor patio to the rear to enjoy also. Parking was very convenient too. We had the most enjoyable and relaxing stay and will be sure to come back again soon! Thank you so much, Rekha and Vishnu, for your generosity, kindness and the effort you put into your beautiful property. We really appreciated it!
Other reviews are accurate. I've stayed in some wonderful places. This is truly the best yet. We walked to the Rose Garden, groceries, restaurants, and shopping. Portland is wonderful. Great location especially for first time visitors. Amazingly quiet neighborhood. The loudest we heard was a group of school kids on a morning outing. Outstanding hosts. They've thought of everything. You really don't need a car unless you plan to go outside the city which we did a few times. Parking was fine. Much easier than Chicago street parking. But if you must rent a car, you might opt for a smaller vehicle. Certainly not a Ford Bronco. Based on my experience, I'd avoid the Bronco in any setting. Alas, I miss the old first generation Ford Bronco with "three on the tree". Ford, what have you done?
My family (2 adults one toddler) and my sister had such a wonderdul stay in this stunning home. We loved baking and cooking in the kitchen - amazing kitchen utensils and oven. There was three different types of coffee machines (Espresso/perculator/keurig) and a grinder. The kitchen opened up into a private courtyard where our little one played while we lounged/cooked.
Fantastic livingroom with movie-watching setup.
Lots of toys for kids in the house - our little one was in heaven.
We really liked Nob hill area - easy walk to two wonderful grocery stores, lots of nice eating gigs and shopping close by. Wonderul area overall . We also walked to the International rose garden from our house, and you can easily take the street car to downtown Portland/Waterfront if you don’t want to drive.
Vishnu was a great host - always replied promptly and helped when we needed it!
We always found a parking spot in the parking lot across the street - it was $12 per day.
Overall a wonderfull stay! Highly recommended for families with kids where you need a safe haven to reconnect at the end of a busy day.
