About this property
Ocean Edge Beach House
Newly renovated Ocean Edge Beach Cottage is located on a private seashore, offering panoramic views of the water and PEI's famous sand dunes from the wrap-around deck, large great room or the glassed in 'lookout' on the upper level. Our beach house is located at the end of a quiet peninsula on Darnley Basin, Malpeque, PEI. Ocean Edge is a fully equipped 2000 square foot home that sleeps 8. Not only is Ocean Edge located on an acre of land, the house is spacious, offering all the comforts of home.
The options are endless - enjoy the feeling of this private waterfront escape while listening to the waves lap against the shore. Let the smell of the fresh salt air take you a million miles away, all the while, being close to many of the island's most sought after amenities. Put your sea kayak in the water just steps off the back deck, comb your own coast line for shells or other treasures, bike to the well-known sandy beach at Cabot Provincial Park or Thunder Cove just a few kilometers away. Play a round of golf or watch your seafood meal being taken off the boat at an authentic PEI oyster shack just up the road.
Finally, Kensington is only ten minutes away, offering everything necessary to make your stay enjoyable. We look forward to giving you a week to escape.

About the host
Hosted by Joe Mantegna
My wife Shelly and I bought our dream house in PEI in 2005. We enjoy making memories in PEI with our three children and would like to share our beach house with you.
Why they chose this property
After spending our honeymoon in the Maritimes and a golf get-away in PEI, my wife and I had to own our dream home in a place where the only thing nicer than the ocean scenery was the people. We have never regretted making PEI our home away from home, as it has all the simple pleasures that we look for in a family escape.
What makes this property unique
An ideal day at Ocean Edge would be breakfast on the deck with the sun glistening off the water, while watching the lobster boats come and go. Followed by a walk on our sandy beach, a ride in the sea kayak, a round of golf, a long bike ride or a snuggle with a good book. Later, a seafood dinner and home in time to watch the sunset over the water from our second floor 'lookout' with the sound of the waves in the background.
