Good Interior / Bad Exterior

Inside of the unit was fine. Very dark but was as pictured. Bedroom TV didn’t work. Building itself was very old and run down. Elevator barely worked, slow and not worth waiting for. Dark hallways, worn carpeting, etc. Major and noisy construction job all around the building. No parking next to the building, which should have been clearly listed at the top of the listing, not buried at the bottom. Disappointing. We left a day early.

Overall, unit was in a good location, dated, but as advertised. If not for communication issues with Retreatia and power issues would likely have been a four star rating given location. Check in packet was not prepared on arrival. We did arrive a day earlier than initially expected. However, this was prearranged via telephone with the Retreatia office. Did have to check in off property, but this was expected based on previous reviews. Overall unit did not seem to be thoroughly cleaned, used can was on the top of kitchen shelf. The was trash under beds, used clothing was within one of the dressers.We had an issue with a blown fuse resulting in no lights, or heat in one bathroom and one of the bedrooms. Fuse box was in a locked closet. Called the after hours line to request assistance. Received a text an hour later stating that they were looking for the key to the closet. We called back an hour later asking for an update and we’re told we could expect a call with an update from the overnight team. Never received a call. Was not resolved prior to us leaving at 9 am the following day. When we returned at 4 PM, the fuse was reset however, our unit door was also left unlocked. No other communication was received telling us to expect someone. Overall very poor communication in general.

The cleanliness issues you described (items left on shelves, trash under beds, and used clothing in a dresser) are unacceptable — I’ve reported these to our housekeeping team for immediate review and retraining. I also apologize for the check‑in and communication failures. Your early arrival was noted, and the check‑in packet should have been ready. The delayed after‑hours response to the blown fuse, the lack of follow up, and the unit door being left unlocked after service are all being escalated with our maintenance, overnight team, and operations so we can correct protocol and response times.
