Ski Time Square 503, by Mountain Vacation Lodging, is a "Pet Free" penthouse level condo with 2 bedrooms + a loft, in the heart of the Steamboat Ski Resort's base area. The condo has a 2 Queens + 2 Twins, so it sleeps up to 6 without anyone on a couch. 4 singles? No problem! Everyone gets their own bed. 2 Couples + 2 singles / 2 kids? You're all set! 1 Couple plus 3-4 kids? This condo is perfect for you. With an easy walk to trails, slopes, ski school, restaurants, shops, and local transportation, there is no need for a car - everything is right out your door! Please read on for more details.

The Property:
At over 1100 square feet, Ski Time Square 503 is larger than most standard 2-Bedrooms in the base area, and with this condo, you get the loft space as a bonus! It's a top floor unit with 20 foot high vaulted ceilings in the living room and 15 foot high ceilings in the upper level bedroom. The big windows in these rooms provide lots of natural light which add a spacious feel. The condo is laid out on two levels. The entry level consists of the first bedroom, a full bathroom, the kitchen, the living and dining room, and a large balcony with amazing views. There is also an entry nook with a bench and storage for your coats and hats. The upper level includes the second bedroom, another full bathroom, and the loft bedroom, which overlooks the living room below. In 2016, upgrades to the property included the addition of granite counters in the kitchen and bathrooms, new cabinets & appliances, as well as new paint & furniture. Enjoy complimentary wireless internet and beautiful sunsets.

Shared Amenities - this condo complex has:
– 2 Outdoor Hot Tubs
– Sauna
– Fitness Equipment
– Heated, Indoor, Ground Level Ski Lockers
– Laundry facilities
– Trails for Skiing, Hiking, & Biking ~ 150 Meters
– Restaurants, shops, events & activities ~ 150 Meters
– Free city bus nearby ~ 200 Meters

Location:
Ski Time Square is right at the base of the Steamboat Ski Resort base, and everything is walkable. The edge of the ski slopes is only about 150 meters from the building. With ski lockers at the entrance, heading out for a few runs or coming home for lunch is super easy. Want to head out for some Apres Ski drinks and food? You'll have lots of great restaurants to choose from. Enjoy all the activities, events, shops and dining options of the base area when you stay here. If you want to hit the supermarkets or check out downtown Steamboat, the free city bus picks up about 200 meters from the building, and can get you pretty much anywhere in town. If you are headed outside of town for a snowmobile tour, sleigh ride dinner, or a dip in the Strawberry Park Hot Springs? Those companies have shuttles that will pick you up and drop you back off. No need to worry about parking or driving in winter conditions. When you stay here, the location makes having a car unnecessary.

Arrival, Accessibility, and Parking:
Once you book, we're here to support you. We will provide you with arrival instructions and answer any specific questions you might have. Accessing this property does require stairs. Accessing this property does require stairs. From the most convenient parking or drop off points, a half a flight of stairs up or down is required. There is also a half a flight of stairs between the entrance and the elevator. Once you are inside this condo, the main level includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, one of the two bathrooms, and one of the Queen bedrooms. The condo has vaulted ceilings in the living room that are 20+ feet high. Stairs lead to the upper level where you'll find the second bedroom, second bathroom, and the loft area with 2 Twins. On site outdoor parking is available at this condo complex. The parking is a private gated outdoor lot for 1 vehicle per unit. We recommend carpooling as much as possible in any season, and strongly recommend it in busier seasons. Please note, you may not want or may not need a car, particularly in ski season. You can easily walk throughout the base area, and there are free buses picking up and dropping off within a couple hundred meters of the building. These free buses can get you around town and are frequent. There are also private shuttles available, when you head out of town to the hot springs, to snowmobile tours, to guest ranches, etc. For guests visiting in the spring, summer, and fall, who might want to be able to drive to remote trailheads, state parks, national forest, or wilderness areas, or just want or need to have a car onsite, here is some additional information regarding your options. If you arrive and the parking lot is full, you can still pull up to the building, unload bags, groceries, etc, and then go park off-site. Street parking is allowed along Ski Time Square Drive. However, please note that Ski Time Square is a popular place to try to park, since it provides such easy access to the ski slopes as well as restaurants, activities, and other attractions. So, the city has limited street parking to 2 hours. There are also two paid parking structures within walking distance, at the intersection of Ski Time Square Drive and Mt. Werner Circle. The walk to those two lots is about 5 mintues, and the walk is virtually flat, so it's pretty easy. During ski season 2023/2024, The rate for parking at those lots was $50 per day, and we expect the rate for ski season 2024/2025 to be at or perhaps slightly above $50/day. Free parking may be available in other areas of town, free buses as well as taxis provide you with options to get to and from these alternative offsite parking options. Please contact us with any questions about off site parking options. All that said, during the busier parts of ski season, we recommend that guests of this development choose to carpool or don't rent a car at all.

On-site staff were great. Only issues were fireplace was broken and had been broken for sometime, laundry facilities are located in the basement and you have to pay to use them, and key fob to hottub/sauana did not work on the last night. Condo is also located about a 7 minute walk from gondola not as quick as you'd think.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear our on-site team made a positive impression—they work hard to ensure every stay is as smooth and welcoming as possible. For future guests considering this home, Ski Time Square 503 offers a spacious, top-floor layout with vaulted ceilings, abundant natural light, and flexible sleeping arrangements that comfortably accommodate a variety of group types—all without anyone needing to use a sofa bed. The location is a standout feature, with the base area, dining, shops, and ski access just a short, easy walk away, making it simple to enjoy everything Steamboat has to offer without relying on a car. We aim to be as transparent as possible prior to arrival, including communicating any known maintenance items like the fireplace, so guests can plan accordingly. The property also features convenient on-site amenities such as hot tubs, sauna, ski lockers, and access to nearby trails, all designed to enhance your stay. Overall, this condo continues to be a great option for guests seeking a comfortable, well-located home base in the heart of the resort area with plenty of space and convenience built in.

Nice views, clean and comfortable. Easy communication with the host. The elevator did work, but the fireplace was broken. Board games are provided which our family enjoyed at night. The property could use a little TLC and you do need some type of transportation other than the city bus to get to places outside of town like Fish Creek Falls and Strawberry Hot Springs. However, the city bus is very clean and convenient for other purposes. Overall, very nice and we would stay here again.

View from living room window was nice and the close proximity to the lift was also nice, but honestly those were the only nice things about the property. The furniture is extremely worn, we didn’t even sit on the course as it was completely out of cushion. The chair and ottoman was also extremely warn. The fireplace didn’t work, it was “out of order” our entire stay. There were lots of bugs in all of the light fixtures. The entry door was extremely difficult to open/lock. The two queen beds were as hard as rocks. The laundry facility was really hard to get to and it only took quarters. And the coin machine was “out of change” our entire stay. The upstairs loft has zero privacy and one of the beds is against the overhang- very dangerous for kids. The downstairs bedroom looks right at the hot tub, so zero privacy. We paid over 5k to stay here for 6 nights. Total waste of money. For that, I would much rather shuttle in and stay at a nicer place.

Future guests should know that this home is accurately represented in the listing, including photos, layout, and amenities, so you can book with a clear understanding of what to expect. This is a top-floor condo with a lofted layout, vaulted ceilings, and large windows—features that provide great natural light and an open feel, but also mean the loft is open to the living space below. The bed placement and ceiling lines in the loft are shown in the listing photos, and while some guests may prefer more separation, others enjoy the flexible sleeping arrangement for families or groups. As with any lofted space, we recommend supervising children and choosing sleeping arrangements that best fit your group’s comfort level. Furniture, bedding, and overall condition are regularly maintained, and any concerns raised during a stay are addressed as quickly as possible. During this particular visit, our team responded promptly—sending staff to assist with the door, inspect reported issues, and re-clean specific areas upon request. The fireplace was unfortunately out of service during this stay, which was communicated, and it is not listed as an available amenity. We understand this can be disappointing for some guests, but we aim to ensure all advertised features are accurate and up to date. Regarding shared amenities such as the laundry facilities, these are managed by the HOA (not our team), and access/payment methods (including coin operation) are standard for the building. In terms of privacy and location, this condo is in the heart of a vibrant base area—just steps from the slopes, hot tubs, dining, and activities. The tradeoff for that unbeatable convenience is that some units, including this one, may have sightlines to shared spaces or nearby activity, which is also reflected in the listing and photos. We always strive to be responsive and fair, and in this case, we worked closely with the guest throughout their stay and provided a partial refund as part of that process. Overall, this property continues to be a strong choice for guests who prioritize space, location, and walkable access to everything at the Steamboat base area, with clear and accurate expectations set prior to arrival.

Wonderful location

The condo itself was perfect location for skiers and non skiers in our group. Easy walk across the street to get to the base. Between the hot tubs across from the condo, ski lockers downstairs, and free parking, this place was wonderful. The only downside was the beds were very soft, but that is expected when staying in a rental.

Glad you liked the condo, once there! Long is a relative term, so we want to clarify for future guests. To get into the condo, from the underground parking garage, you go up a flight of stairs, then walk on a sidewalk for about 30 meters, to the building entrance. Once inside, it’s about 20 meters and up one half flight of stairs, to the elevator (as your passing the ski lockers, laundry, and vending). Then from the elevator to the unit is about 30 meters. Some might choose to load/unload from the east or west entrance of the building instead of the garage. The east entrance would allows you to only go down stairs from your car, almost directly into the building, then up an elevator. The west entrance would allow you to go from the building down stairs to your car. Dow is better than up when you have bags or groceries. We hope this info helps future guests enjoy the fantastic location and views with minimal effort!

Nice location, fine property

This is in a nice location, close to the slopes - great for skiing or mountain biking. The unit is a bit dated and could use some updating but it served our needs fine. Also know that the parking is a bit far and there are a some steps before you even get to the elevator so that makes it kind of tough to carry everything in.

Good but not Great

A bit worn, two broken chairs but the price was right. We had 5 people max on one of the 7 days and four during the balance so it wasn't a problem. But really would be tough to accomodate 8 people. Walk out but not really ski in. Parking was extra. Still there was value as the location was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Future guests can feel confident knowing that this condo is represented accurately in both the listing details and photos, so there are no surprises upon arrival. The sleeping arrangements include two Queen beds and two Twin beds—comfortably accommodating up to six guests without the need for a pull-out couch. The loft and upper-level spaces feature large windows and vaulted ceilings, which bring in great natural light and add to the open, airy feel of the home. Guests who are sensitive to early morning light may want to plan accordingly, as this design element is intentional and visible in the listing photos. For added clarity, the property offers shared laundry facilities, as clearly noted in the listing—there is no in-unit washer and dryer. Like many properties in a lively base-area location, some ambient noise from the surrounding resort and neighboring units can occasionally be heard, especially during busier times. That said, this is part of the tradeoff for staying in such a central, walkable location—just steps from the slopes, dining, and activities. We’ve also taken steps to ensure all guest information is current and easily accessible. Updated arrival instructions and property details are sent directly prior to check-in, and any outdated materials previously in the unit have been removed. Overall, this home continues to be a great fit for guests looking for a spacious, well-located condo right in the heart of the Steamboat base area, with convenient access to everything the resort has to offer.

Not bad

The building is older and has a noticeable musty smell. During our stay, none of the elevators were working, which made it inconvenient since we were on the 5th floor. The parking setup was a bit confusing—we were only given one parking pass, even though we had two vehicles. The condo itself was outdated but generally clean. The shower curtain liners had some discoloration and staining and could use replacing. The showers also made a high-pitched whining sound while in use. The beds were quite firm, which may not be comfortable for everyone. There were three air mattresses available, which the kids used. The pull-out sofa bed was not used. Overall, our stay wasn't bad, but there are some things that could be improved for better comfort and convenience.

Great location, functionally sufficient, but lacking updates

We stayed here for a fun annual guy's ski trip. We've traveled around the country over the years and were excited to explore Steamboat - a first for several of us. The condo is in a great location, save for the lack of parking. You can easily walk to the slopes and the bus to town similarly picks up a block away. The bus ride is about 15 minutes into town, so if you're looking for an in-town vibe, look elsewhere. The unit itself was functionally satisfying. However, top to bottom, the unit needed updating. I called to provide more comprehensive feedback after our stay, but the couple standouts were: a) The elevator on the west end of the building was arguably unsafe. It clearly hadn't been maintain and would not reliably go to the fifth floor. We didn't use it for fear of getting stuck in it. b) The handrail to the top floor of the unit wobbled significantly. If you really needed to use it to support your weight, I'd worry that it would break. We had a wonderful time, but the photos look much more updated than you'll find upon arrival. All that said, the price was right. :)

Plus: Location, Price - Minus: Check-in, parking, elevator

We want this review to help future guests of Ski Time Square 503. The location is very good, not ski in/out, but about 100 yard walk to/from bunny slope. The rate tends to be less than nearby properties. Comm's with MVL prop. mgmt. is competent and professional - very important to us. Check-in/out is a pain, pure and simple. There is no good, close place to load/unload stuff. The single lane road to the dumpster on the right side tends to be a cluster, and is a stressful situation. Tip: the loading zone at Torian Plum is generally open, and is worth the few extra steps. The elevator closest to 503 on the left/west side has been broken all season. Thus a lot of extra walking along the length of the building is needed to avoid taking the 5 flights of stairs to/from the unit. Overnight Parking: Ski Time Square's parking garage was condemned by the city 10/2022, so no parking for the entire complex. They've arranged for free off-site parking as detailed in the description. Steamboat Square parking garage is closest option - about a 5 minute walk. In sum, if the discounted rate is worth these inconveniences, then go for it. We enjoyed our stay.

Ski Time Square 503 remains a great option for guests who value both location and affordability. The property is just a short walk—about 100 yards—to the slopes, offering convenient access without the higher cost of ski-in/ski-out accommodations. Mountain Vacation Lodging is committed to providing clear, professional communication before and during your stay so you know exactly what to expect. To help future guests plan ahead, there are a few logistical details worth noting. Loading and unloading near the building can be limited during peak times, so a quick drop-off strategy is helpful. Many guests find nearby pull-in areas, such as the Torian Plum loop, to be a convenient alternative before parking. Parking has been significantly improved—Ski Time Square’s on-site garage is now open and available again, making overnight parking much more convenient than in the past. Within the building, elevator availability can occasionally vary, and depending on your unit location, some additional walking may be required. Guests who prefer minimal walking or step-free access may want to keep this in mind when booking. For travelers who prioritize a strong value, walkable location, and dependable service, this property continues to be a solid choice for a Steamboat stay. We appreciate guest feedback and continuously use it to improve the overall experience. As always, our Guest Services Team can be reached 24/7 should you have any questions!

Nice unit but the property is showing its age

Good space for the price. Practical, functional, decent layout, and clean. That said, it was a little dreary, poor lighting, could really use a thorough refresh. The elevator on our side of the building didn't go to the 5th floor. Sometimes it didn't work at all. It was a bit of a hike on the outdoor catwalk to get to the working elevator. A couple of chairs were broken. We needed 5 chairs so had to use the one that could still support a person. We put the other one back in the corner. The bedrooms were adequately sized, mattresses in good condition. The kitchen was well equipped - surprisingly usable knives for a condo, plenty of pots and pans, dishwasher worked well. The property is a short walk from the lifts and base area restaurants and shopping but it is not ski on/off in any sense. I recommend Torian Sports if you're renting. They let us store our skis overnight so we didn't have to drag them back and forth to the condo. Nice folks working there too. We didn't rent a car for this trip and we really didn't need one. Shuttle service was good and ride shares were easy to get. Only exception was at the airport itself (airport to the condo) but they warned us about that.

Outdated condo with insufficient seating

As someone who books through VRBO quite often, this is the first negative review I've left. This condo is very outdated and I would recommend staying elsewhere until it's updated. I don't think the owner has visited the place since it was purchased because they clearly don't care about what it looks like inside. Checking in is very confusing, there's little to no parking to drop luggage off and there's construction everywhere. Read the fine print because you have to park 5 minutes away and pay for it. At times, you will have to walk through dirt or mud to get to the street and the sidewalk isn't lit at night. One of elevators is broken as well. Personally, I don't think it's safe at this time and this rental shouldn't be open to rent until the construction is completed. Additionally, the inside of the condo is very outdated and doesn't have ample seating (small couch), no coffee tables or end tables. The tv is very old and very small. It does have an amazing view which is why we booked it, however, there are only 2 very old metal folding chairs to sit on which are very uncomfortable and there's no table outside to put your coffee on. Another fun fact, there was no shampoo, soap or body wash for our stay. Overall, having stayed in Steamboat quite often over the past few years, this was by far the worst rental we've had and I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere so you can fully enjoy your stay.

Great location, great property, process was difficult

We really enjoyed our stay here, it’s a 3 min walk to the lifts which was great. The condo itself was nice, spacious and was nice to have a jacuzzi. A few areas of improvement; when we got to the condo the check in process is very confusing and the arrival instructions are out of date. It would be nice to have an updated instruction sheet because there is no parking now, so most of the directions weren’t even relevant. We followed instructions on where to temporarily park to unload and got yelled at. I think it should be a little more clear on the VRBO post that there is no parking and nowhere close to the building to unload. Also that there is no free overnight parking in steamboat. Second, when we got to the condo the balcony door was wide open so the place was freezing cold, and a majority of the dishes were dirty. There was also no extra trash bags or dishwasher soap, so we had to do all the dishes by hand. Lastly, my interactions with the manager were weird, she asked a lot of questions about our group and how old we were, and how many couples vs singles there were which I thought was strange. It was just a lot of in depth questions that I’ve never been asked about when renting from VRBO. Overall, the condo was great for how cheap it was. I just wish there was an updated arrival instruction sheet, that would have made our arrival go much more smoothly.

Great spot

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was perfect for hitting the slopes, and the ski locker and hot tub were great features! We didn't have the check-in information before we arrived, but the office sent it over once I called.

We email the arrival instructions automatically, and they were sent to this guest, right on schedule. She just didn't see them - they were in her spam folder. As soon as someone books one of our properties, we tell them verbally, and also in the rental agreement / confirmation, exactly when the arrival instructions will be emailed to them, so they know to check their inbox and spam folder, to look for and find them. In this case, Katie booked in October for a February stay, so it would have been easy to forget when to look for those arrival instructions. We've been in business since 2003, so we know that it is simply human nature, to forget to look at arrival instructions until you start traveling. We want that travel day to go smoothly, so we send a "reminder" email, a few days after the arrival instructions are sent and a few days before the arrival date. It reminds guests that they should have already received and reviewed arrival instructions, as well as providing local information and resources, etc. Of course, like this review shows, if you can't find the arrival instructions, all you have to do is call us, and we can re-send them right away. We're here to help!

Great place to stay!

The price and location were great! Able to walk to the Wondergrass Festival. Parking was tricky at first but good once we figured out the garage. Would have preferred ability to drop off luggage at the entrance. Hard to get it all from the garage to the condo. Had to walk to the lifts but not far. Great condo with perfect view!

Nice slope side condo

Very nice location, great view of the slopes. 200 yard or so walk from the lift and rental shops. Have to travel a few miles for food (most restaurants close at 5-6, obviously nothing the owner of this can control) The hot tubs are right across from the room, so that’s convenient. I do not believe they have the inside hot tubs anymore, or Atleast we could not find them. Over all a very nice place to stay.

Convenient condo near the lifts

4 of us stayed here over New Years and had a great time. The condo is a quick easy walk to the slopes. Short walk to the hot tubs which are 1 flight of stairs down. The elevator is a little small but never had any issues waiting even during the busy holiday. The kitchen has most items you'd require but nothing too fancy.
