About this property

Erie Canal Suite - The Mohawk Valley House

This majestic inn was built in 1817 and has been restored into the perfect accommodation for those looking for a truly unique and incomparable experience.

With four spacious suites with full baths, small table, and coffee station. Access to a full kitchen and laundry room. The Mohock inn will add a delightful charm to your event.
Whether it be a family reunion, business retreat or ladies night out! Please come experience this tranquil and inspiring atmosphere!

Originally built in 1817 in Schoharie, New York, we dismantled and moved the inn to Texas in 2020. Built in Dutch New York in a style dating back to the late 1600’s in New England and known as a “center hall colonial”, our inn features Dutch-style framing with exposed heavy, hand-hewn beams and wide pine floors,. We rebuilt the Inn with a Southwest “Territorial: style” to fit in with the surrounding buildings and decorated each of the four suites in a different New York theme: The Catskill, The Adirondack, The Eire Canal and The Hudson.

*As seen on TV on the Magnolia Network’s "Restoration Road with Clint Harp" show.

A private, spacious suite, full bath, small refrigerator, small table and coffee station.

You will also have access to a full kitchen and laundry room.

We are just around the corner if you need anything.

Just a 12-minute drive from downtown Waco, the Inn is nestled amid flowers, vegetable gardens and fruit trees next to Heritage Coffee Shop and Brazos Valley Cheese, makers of award-winning artisan cheeses. A short walk down the lane you will find the Homestead Traditional Craft Village featuring working craft shops, a 1760 grist mill, the Plowshare Craft School (www.sustainlife.com) as well as Café Homestead, (voted the #1 place to eat in Waco.)

A car will be the quickest and easiest mode of transportation. Plenty of parking space makes for easy access to the inn. There are, however, foot paths for bicyclist if you enjoy getting out.

Peaceful Retreat
Absolutely LOVED our stay!! The house itself was so charming with old world appeal. The room was so clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Came to Waco for Chip and Joanna Gaines properties but touring the grounds and businesses of this small peaceful community was just as enjoyable. We highly recommend this property to future renters.

Fun Community
We had no idea before we arrived that this was a community of self efficient Mennonites who grow and manufacture most everything at their Homestead. We were quite surprised at the warm welcome we received in each store at craft village. We will visit again if we make it to Dallas. Loved it!
