If you are not familiar with the charm and uniqueness of Sellwood, take some time to explore this place, and all that it has to offer. The studio is in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood in the heart of Sellwood.
To the north, only four houses away, is the infamous Sellwood Park. Walk two more blocks and you are treated with one of the best views in Portland, overlooking a 140-acre Wetland with our city skyline off in the near distance. And, the fully operating, 1910 Oaks Amusement Park and Skating Rink are within a 10 minute walk settled along the Willamette River.
The amazing Sellwood Park is a walk away; If you have time for a walk, this is a must!!! At the northend, you will find a trailhead that leads down and around the 140 acre wetland of Oaks Bottom. It's a beautiful mixture of forested trails, water, and wild life! Either walk out and back or make it a loop. Depending on your direction, you may walk past our old historic Oaks Chapel, the oldest, one-story church in Oregon. View the Willamette River, 100-year-Oaks Skating Rink and Amusement Park, and the city skyline along the way!
Only two blocks to the west from the studio is another park known as Oaks Bottom. The Willamette River and Spring Water Bike/Running/Walking Trail meanders along its border all the way into downtown Portland, 3 and 1/2 miles to the north, and beyond. Head east in the opposite direction, and the bike trail continues for over 40 miles... all this is accessible by foot or bike from our studio.
