This unit offers open floor plan with two bedrooms, two baths on either side, in the middle enjoy the living room, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. The view of ocean in front, salt flats behind and a bit off to the side is one of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico with its pristine and crystalline waters.Puerto Rico was certainly blessed with the great treasure of beautiful beaches, many which have been ranked among the top 10 in the world. So when you visit Puerto Rico which beaches do you choose to visit? Allow me to introduce you to Cabo Rojo.
Because Cabo Rojo is situated in the southern and most western part of the island, the town is surrounded by gorgeous Caribbean waters. No other town in Puerto Rico offers such a great variety of beaches in one location like Cabo Rojo. You would need at least four days in Cabo Rojo to explore them all. All the beaches in Cabo Rojo are calm, with azure waters and white sand and very family friendly. Some beaches are very quiet, so you may have a spot all to yourself or you can choose to go to one of the beaches with facilities, shopping and dining nearby.

Rural area, bordering the Cabo Rojo lighthouse. The complex is secure. It has laundry facilities and a swimming pool. Super relaxing. Good communication with the owner.

Great views
Views of sunrise and sunset were great. Location is not near anything but ocean.
My wife and two sons (ages 6 and 9) really enjoyed our time in this condo. The pool was a great place to hang, the bbq was definitely used, and the beaches were unbelievable. We had a brief check in difficulty, but once that was solved the stay was wonderful. Doris responded immediately to all communications and even recommended one of our new favorite beaches in the world!
Loved the third floor apartment. Lovely ocean view, warm breeze, several nearby beaches, especially the beach near the lighthouse. Local shops and restaurants made it easy to stay close to “home “. Overall great vacation!
My husband and I stayed in early January. We loved everything about this well furnished apartment/condo. The place was very clean and Doris quickly responded to our messages. Doris had much advice and information. The grounds and pool were well maintained.
Doris is an awesome host! Very responsive and her place is clean, comfortable, and location is what we were looking for. The unit is huge and spacious.
Great vacation spot!
Thank you Doris!
The unit in Cabo Rojo at the furthest tip of Puerto Rico island is the environmentalist dream. Situated on a peninsula facing the Caribbean Sea and the back bedrooms facing the salt flats is a naturalist ultimate fantasy. Hands down if you are a lover of birds, the sea and peaceful tranquility you will be in awe. My husband and c love this condominium facility as we are hikers, adeventurists and environmental conscious. If you’re looking for a vacation spot to drink, eat and party, this is not for you! This is lax and nature lovers environment! The view is ultimate above the palms and everyday watching the fisher kings, sailboats and tranquil waters of the sea! Unparalleled to none. We experienced some bumps with our stay regarding malfunction of appliances but in the end the host apologized sincerely and made things right according to professional standards. I thank her for honesty and integrity in business practices. El caribe is hard to beat if you’re a nature lover and desire peace and quiet vacation!

Nicest property in Cabo Rojo!!
Our family stayed at two different locations in Cabo Rojo. As we have never stayed in Cabo Rojo before, we chose two different condos to minimize the risk of a location that did not meet our expectations. While Cabo Rojo was amazing (beaches, restaurants, markets, etc.), this location was the BEST of the two. The condo was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The grounds were amazing and SO close to the beautiful Playa Sucia and the light house. We spent hours hiking around discovering birds, plants, flowers, and the beautiful views. If you are looking at Cabo Rojo, look no further than here!

Thank you for your visit and care given to our unit. You will always be welcome! I wish I could have done more to make your time in Cabo Rojo even more memorable than it already was. Remember this is your home away from home whenever you'd like. I look forward to hearing from you again. Stay well and be safe!
This is an amazing location for families or singles who want to bounce from town to town.
We did the following beaches and towns very easily while staying: Combate, Buye, Light House and Parguera.
Doris is beyond responsive.
The pool is super fun and a great reprive at the end of the day.
Only feedback to set expectations:
The salt fields do have a sulfer smell especially with zero wind. And it bothers some but work through it! And Playa Sucia can often have sea weed.
Also keep an open mind! And just have fun!

Blessings to you and your family! You are always welcome!
The location of the condo is literally at the end of the road on the Southwest corner of the island. The view from the 3rd floor unit is incredible with waterviews from every window. With the shutters open on all three sides we had no need for AC despite the 90 degree temps outside. We enjoyed being away from it all, but still so close to many beautiful beaches, waterfalls, trails, gorgeous viewpoints, a bioluminescent bay and great restaurants. We loved watching the sunset every night and the sunrise in the morning. Take a hike to the lighthouse at the end of the peninsula and be sure to take the trails to the right for hidden beaches and cliffs. Then check out Playa Sucia, a calm crescent-shaped beach to the left. The beds were very comfortable and we loved listening to the waves at night. The condo had everything we needed. Doris was very responsive when we had questions and helpful with suggestions. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely return!

The host was very accommodating, responsive and helpful. The location is unbeatable for a quiet remote getaway.

This very airy condo is out on a strip of land surrounded by a nature preserve and lots of wildness. Has beautiful view but no beach access in the immediate area. Complex has a great pool area and there are fantastic places to visit nearby especially the lighthouse and Playa Sucia. Neighbors downstairs were a bit noisy as were the roosters

3 day stay turned to 2
The view is the only thing that makes this a 3. It is beautiful from the 3rd floor. Everything thing else was either bad or just blah. The king size bed was like sleeping on concrete. The beach behind the condo was unusable. I took 3 steps out and sunk to my knees. If you want to get in the water, you either have to walk down the road or drive somewhere else. Not much open on Mondays. The inside could use a refresh. Small coffee maker and small bathrooms. Not a lot of sitting space. A/C only in bedrooms. The breeze was nice but trying to get ready was hard with no A/C in the bathroom or living area. Host was nice and her son that checked us in was pleasant also. We left a day early and gladly paid for a nice hotel room in San Juan.

Thank you Michelle for your visit and comments. My apology for not meeting your standards. Blessings always to you and your family.
Overall a great location and great condo, the ocean view and breeze was amazing. The Sunset was phenomenal from the patio. The Bed was comfy, hammock on the patio was nice, the only thing that needs an update is the living room furniture, it’s pretty uncomfortable. Also, the washer and dryer is coin operated. There’s a mini mart about 10 minutes away and a supermarket 20-30 minutes away. We lost electricity one day (it’s PR) and the owner was so responsive and apologetic and helpful in calling the power CO.
All in all a great stay, thanks again for everything!

Not for us
Before we reserved the condo, we let Doris know that we had been burned in the past with prior inaccurate descriptions by owners. We are assured that was not the case here..
The good: cute condo, loved the location. Some comments said it was “remote”, but we found absolutely everything we needed not far away. Good grocery store (Ritmar), gas, & great beach down the road. Nice breeze keeping it relatively cool inside. We had asked to have groceries at the condo. Doris did a FANTASTIC job of getting the things we needed (gave her a list). Initial communication was great, but, how we were to get the keys did change at the last minute driving in the dark -confusing. Fortunately, Doris was home, or we would have never found the keys where left..
The bad and iffy: The listing makes it appear there is a beach out front you can use – not so. Listing said ocean front, but the area is fenced in-inaccessible. The pool area has no lounge chairs or umbrellas. The pool bathrooms were locked. No hot pads, only 2 or 3 coffee cups. No plug for the kitchen sink to wash dishes. We had to buy a frying pan-hers were unusable. The A/C in the bedroom older loud window unit, so open the shutters for the breeze.
The bathroom ceiling fan covers were completely clogged. BUT – for the most part the condo was cleaner than the average we have seen. Remember local standards may not be up to your expectations laundry different than photos
The Internet iffy – use cellular if you can get it. There is TV, however, only like 5 channels & 90% of the time they are in Spanish. The one bathroom will only give a cold shower.
The listing lists amenities nearby of a resort spa/ workout room & a kayak rental. NEITHER HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE THE LAST HURRICANE. The properties were in a state of severe decay.. We feel a bit deceived. THE BIG BAD:. The salt flats were overwhelmingly smelly while we were there. It made me quite sick. Everyone reacts differently-look up hydrogen sulphide b4 you book. If we had known, we would not have booked. We had to move elsewhere.
The refrigerator also went out the day before we left and by this time we were not getting any answers to my texts. Doris had that was the best way to contact her, she said she never got any of them, but my phone shows them all delivered. No compensation was offered by the host, so we double paid for 2 weeks of our trip.
The apartment is on the top floor (3rd) and an end unit so there are windows on three sides that all have ocean views. Since it's on the third floor, you get a great sunset view from the balcony (lower floors would get blocked by the mangroves). There is direct beach access if you are willing to walk just a bit. You go out the back gates (one of the keys on the key ring is for the lock) and walk to the right. You make your way behind mangroves and then reach a sandy beach. We walked out there a couple of times after spending the day at other beaches. We loved the area because it's quiet (people quiet; there are roosters!) but it's easy to get to beaches like Sucia, Buye, Combate, and Steps.
We stayed at Doris's condo for 3 days at the beginning of the year. The condo was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The views were beautiful, but note (to my knowledge) there is no beach access from the condo. We visited Playa Sucia, Playa Combate, Playa Buye and Playa Boqueron. All were beautiful!! The water is so calm and blue.
As others have mentioned, food was an issue. The closest restaurants for us were about 20 minutes away in Combate and Boqueron. We were there on a Monday thru Wednesday, so many restaurants were closed. We ate at Annie's Place which had good food and a beautiful location. We also ate at Tacos & Flowers based on a recommendation from a local. It was excellent!
Based on another reviewer's recommendation, we booked a Bio Bay Parguera & Sunset Snorkel with Paradise Scuba and Snorkel. It was awesome and I would definitely recommend it!!
Finally, Doris was super easy to work with and very responsive! I would definitely recommend staying here - just know that you have to travel to the beach and to restaurants.
We stayed at Doris’ 2 BR, 2 bathroom condo for 10 nights over winter break. The location and accommodations were perfect for our family, but it isn’t ideal for everyone. If you want an active nightlife with bars and businesses that cater to tourists, this probably isn’t a good rental for you. If your young kids need organized time playing with other kids, try another location.
If you want to fall asleep to the waves hitting the shore, wake up to waves, sunlight and roosters crowing, book this rental. You get an amazing view from windows on three sides. You can watch the amazing sunset from the balcony (amazing pictures). You may end up sleeping in the hammock because it’s so peaceful. The neighbor’s rosters and the sound of the waves will wake you in the morning. Close the blinds and use the AC if you want to sleep late.
A short drive to Cabo Rojo or a neighboring city brings you to many dining or grocery options. Finding dining establishments that were open during the Omicron COVID spike was a bit difficult, but that shouldn’t deter you from the beautiful area. We stocked up on some groceries so we could could eat at the condo a few evenings.
The beaches are incredible. We spent most days at the local beaches, which was our goal when we booked our vacation.
There is no Uber or public transportation in the rural areas, so you’ll want a rental vehicle to get around. A vehicle with high clearance (SUV) is recommended due to potholes. Don’t rent a truck; they are large on the single lane roads and trucks are considered commercial vehicles, so you may be required to pay for commercial insurance.
Because this is located on the peninsula on the most southwest part of the island, you’ll need to drive to reach some of the attractions. Driving in the mountains is interesting. Expect a slow drive and sharp turns.
If you want a beautiful, quiet beach, visit La Playuela. You may need to hike a mile if the gate is closed or if there is no available parking. This was our favorite beach. No bathrooms, changing rooms or food vendor on site, so pack snacks. The waves are big on windy days. Great location for hiking and pictures. Shade is readily available. We spent most of our time at this beach and had quick access to the condo when needed.
Playa El Combate is also incredible. The water is calmer than La Playela on windy days. Shade trees are plentiful. Restaurants are close.
Overall, a wonderful condo in a fabulous remote location.
The property was just as described and worked perfectly for our trip. The place was clean and had everything we needed. There are two laundry rooms on the property and a pool (we did not use the pool).
Doris, the property manager, is phenomenal and is quick to respond to questions. She provided great suggestions for things to do/places to eat in the area, including a boat and captain who took us out to some great snorkeling locations. We will not hesitate to rent from her for future trips. There is a reason she is a premier host.
The property is remote, the last property on the road to the Cabo Rojo lighthouse (a must see). While this worked for us (secluded and no traffic at night) there are no restaurants nearby. There is a convenience store close, several good beaches within 15 minutes, some great small towns within 20 minutes (La Parguera has some good places to eat and M&M Bakery and Deli is a must), and Mayaguez is only about 45 minutes.

About the host
Hosted by Doris Roman
We have lived in this quaint town all of our lives. Being born here and after living and working in New York for many years we decided to retire here. We have several properties in this area including where we live which is called a 'Finca' (a farm only with no animals, just our dog, our best friend).
Why they chose this property
Our location is very unique, surrounded by a natural serene and open environment, enjoy the views of the ocean, large sky, best place to enjoy shooting stars, fresh air and sounds of nature. With little chance of rain on the southwest side of the island, the temperature is usually between 75 to 85 degrees. The water temperature is also very warm and pleasant around 80 degrees. What more can I ask for, bird watching, cycling and hiking are things to do after which a swim in the most beautiful crystal blue waters of Playa Sucia also known as La Playuela beach just steps away from the beautiful lighthouse.
What makes this property unique
Enjoy sitting outside of the unit overlooking the Caribbean waters seeing the sunsets every night or enjoy star gazing. Take walks or bike along the trails which most lead to the ocean.
