Beautiful, well kept house - FAR from town (60 minutes by cart)

Casa Aura Maria was a great house, my family enjoyed the house, pool, and casita. Everything was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the pool was great, and the property was well maintained. The Good - Clean, well stocked house. It had plenty of plates, cups, silverware, coffee pot, knives, cutting boards, pots, etc. that you need. - Marilyn the property manager is awesome! She was in constant communication with us before and during our trip she was also really helpful. She booked us a snorkeling trip that came and picked us up right from the house pier! - The View is beautiful. It’s quiet and serene, with a gorgeous ocean and can see the waves breaking on the reef off in the distance. - The pool is clean, well maintained, and a great size for all of us to enjoy. - There is a fun sitting area on the roof. It has outdoor seating and solar lights, great for an evening cocktail and to watch the stars. - The detached casita was great for the grandparents to have a quiet place to get away from the kids when they needed some down time 😂 The Bad - This place is FAR from town - 8.1 miles and the road is terribly beat up from the constant flow of dump trucks hauling sand all over the Caye. I read somewhere it was 30 minutes to town, but no - it is 60 minutes by golf cart given the pothole filled, super bumpy ride. Be prepared for a long haul to town (which we did almost daily) - The mosquitos are TERRIBLE! Wet season brings them out and they were like piranha!
