About this property

Hickory House on Lake Tawakoni

Our lake house is perfect for a weekend getaway, family reunion or short retreat. You'll want to spend as much time outdoors as possible, but if you get caught on a rainy day, our cozy home is ideal for a jigzaw puzzle, or family game time. Bring your kayaks, boat & fishing gear! We have a private boat ramp. Swim off the dock! Eat outside under the gazebo; we have a grill, fire pit and picnic tables. We are 60 minutes from Dallas and 10 minutes to shopping and restaurants in Quinlan.
Guest access
You'll drive through a working cattle ranch to this wonderful, secluded spot right on the lake! The views are stunning. Hickory House was built as a labor of love to host family gatherings on lakefront land that has been in the family for decades. Soak in the fresh air, sunshine and lake views.
Other things to note
Located on a secluded cove of Lake Tawakoni. The cove runs east to west so the waters are calm. Ideal for water sports, skiing, wake boarding, kayaking, canoes, paddleboards. Bring your favorite water toys! We have a boat slip too.

Looking for a fun weekend of fishing? Channel and blue catfish are abundant, along with limited numbers of flathead catfish. Largemouth bass is also a popular sportfish in this reservoir. Crappie fishing can also be good!

Dream Getaway
We have stayed here several times and it is such a special property. You get all of the comforts of home, but with a beautiful lake view and the quiet outdoors! It's a perfect lodge for summer fun or to snuggle up in when it's chilly. The amenities in the house and on the property can't be beat! Fantastic management and communications! We will be back very soon!

Laid back stay on a ranch. Lake front!
The property was beautiful and well maintained. The beds could have been more comfortable. The house sleeps 8. The one shower was hot and the ac was cold. The internet was spotty but this type of place, you should be outside anyways. We loved drinking coffee watching the deer, horses, donkeys and cows every morning. The fishing was amazing! We caught more then enough to have a fish fry! The dock was great! And host communicated well! Fully stocked kitchen for the most part to cook full meals. No washer and dryer. Thanks for everything

Homeschool trip getaway
A little outdated but overall super clean. The boat deck needs to be fixed. Bug control could be better seen a few scorpions centipedes spiders in the home. These small critters don’t bother us coming from the country but may bother people coming in from the city. Love the secluded location. Will def book again!
