Wonderful VRBO in Carlsbad - The Best

The property managers, Cherina and Brandon, were great. They were very helpful in making our stay a success. They answered any question and promptly dealt with some minor issues relating to the property. The property is convenient to anywhere on the coast - from Oceanside to San Diego. The property is just a pleasant 20 minute walk to the Carlsbad Village Station in the heart of Carlsbad. From there, the Coaster can be taken south all the way to San Diego (a one hour train ride) for 5 (2.50 if you are a senior citizen). Excellent bus service from the historic Santé Fe Train Station can get you to Balboa Park in less than 15 minutes. There you can see the San Diego Zoo and multiple world-class museums. Carlsbad itself is a charming beach community with many wonderful restaurants and shopping opportunities. We stayed 2 months and joined the Carlsbad Senior Center - a fabulous bargain with access to a beautiful fitness center for less than 30 for a month’s membership. There are wonderful attractions up and down the beautiful Pacific coastline from Oceanside to Encinitas to San Diego Old Town and the nearby UC San Diego. Bring your surfboard and electric bike if you have them. And be ready for plenty of sunshine!

Carlsbad Condo

We really enjoyed our visit to the condo. We found the views from the main living area and patio to be an absolute highlight! Being able to walk out and see the lagoon and ocean from the patio was enormously relaxing. We found the location great for our purposes- we love to walk and be outdoors- it was an easy mile walk into the village for donuts at The Goods or coffee at lofty. It was a quick half mile up Tamarack to the beach. There is a very small beach at low tide on the lagoon, but we pretty much always chose to walk up to the seawall and beach area. The communication from the property manager Brandon was excellent- throughout the entire process he was responsive and great to work with- given our experiences at other properties with property managers this was a HUGE benefit- very pleased working with him. The condo is very nice, it is in a very secure complex, which we liked. One thing to note- we were prepared as we knew where it was located, and have been to Carlsbad for the last 5 summers- it is close to the train tracks, if you or family members are a light sleepers- bring a white noise machine. We were prepared so it didn't create any problems for us, but it may for others if you don't know. The soundproofing in the condo was pretty good and the community overall was quiet in our experience. Overall, we were happy with the unit and especially the property manager interaction and would recommend this property without hesitation!
