Two Pet Friendly Rustic Cabins on the Animas River - 6 Min to Downtown DGO

This listing consists of 2 cabins approximately 100 yards apart on the same 8 acre property with 1,600 feet of private Animas River access . One cabin has 2 bed / 2 bath (Ariel's Nest) while the other cabin has 3 bed / 2.5 bath (Gabriel's Cabin) is situated on 8-acers and has 1,600 feet of private Animas river access. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors while also being close to everything Downtown Durango has to offer.

The cabins feature the expected vacation rental amenities including a fully stocked kitchen, BBQ Grill, washer/dryer (laundry detergent provided) and there is plenty of parking for multiple vehicles and trailers. High speed Starlink WIFI was installed in March 2024 with speeds over 100mbs. While the kitchen is fully stocked in both cabins - neither have a dishwasher.

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

Weddings are allowed on the property when renting both cabins. Please inquire with further questions and costs.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Restful River Retreat

This place is fantastic. We had large group of 11 and two dogs. We used both cabins and spent the majority of our time outside by the river. The gas fire pit was a great place to close out the day. We were able To walk to the greenway and brought bikes to access downtown. Houses have all you need for a mountain visit.

River Rescue class for Firefighters a success...again!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Every year I teach classes to firefighters from Arizona on the Animas river in May and I house them utilizing both houses on this property. This year, I taught three classes that included a total five different fire departments from AZ. I would not be able to put on such a high quality class if it were not for the hospitality of the owners. From scheduling to accommodations this property and the location is absolutely perfect for us. The houses continue to provide us with a comfortable, quiet and private setting directly on the river with the most beautiful grass area in front of the houses. The classes often choose to stay at the property rather than go out to dinner because it is such a great location to recover from the day of training. I really cannot say enough about our experiences with these houses. We have utilized them for at lease the last six years (if not more) and I have even rented them privately with my family and friends over the years. Thanks to all for your hospitality and your willingness to work with us throughout the years! You are truly "giving back" by helping us and we appreciate all of you!

Rustic Cabins

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Let me start by saying it is a lot more rustic than the photos show. If you are into that, great, if not, this is not the place for you. Tis was to be a family vacation for 10 over the Christmas / New Year holiday. I will go over the pro's and con's for each building.Main Gabriel's Cabin Con'sThe stairs are super steep. Not only that, at the bottom is a glass door to the exterior. Super creepy s if you fall you are going through the glass. Our son determined it was unsafe for our grandkids and rented a place in town. down to 6 now. This building couldn't have had a building inspection as it is a DYI gone bad. Most things did not work well if at all. The mouse traps all over is an indicator of poorly constructed stuff is. Holes everywhere. Light fixtures dangling from wires in the ceiling. Good luck if it is a rainy day. You will track mud into the appropriately named mud room as the owner hasn't paved or even dropped gravel on the driveway or the step areas. My wife was mopping that floor every time we entered. The heat didn't work correctly and displayed an error message on the temp panel most of the time. There is no dishwasher which for larger groups is a must. While it will sleep 8, there is only seating for 4 to watch TV, and dining for 3 at the table or 2 at the bar. It is NOT conducive for large groups as we had hoped. I could go on, but suffice to say, I will not be staying here again and cannot recommend it.The Pro's - The property management company was awesome. When the router started to smoke and quit working, they had someone out in 90 minutes to get it repaired and they did a great job. The proximity to town is great. The river and fire pits are really nice. The smaller cabin had the same stair issue. Steep with glass at the bottom, The layout on the lower floor is the living area and a bedroom. Upstairs is another bed/bath and the kitchen and dining. It will sleep 4 and can accommodate 4 in the living area. This building is better
