This amazing open floor plan is perfect for 8 adults in the main house with 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, 3 fireplaces, and baseboard heating with 5 zones.
The main house is Limited to 8 adults and 1 small child.

Please understand that We Do Not allow Smoking or Pets in our Home or Property. Please do not book our home if anyone in your party are Smokers.
For larger groups There's an Optional Guest House, with Queen Sleeper Sofa + 2 twin beds, and a Full Bath! This would allow a total of 12 guest. The Guesthouse is $169.00 per night.( Holidays rate $190.00 per night). With the guest house it’s a total of 5 bedrooms & 4 1/2 baths

You will be Living the Dream in our Beautiful Executive Estate home! It has that feel of warmth and charm of a 5 star hotel! This is not a typical rental, but Our Personal Home. With 3 Fireplaces, Hot Tub, Air conditioning and Gorgeous Views!
Start your day with a steaming cup of brew overlooking the beauty of the valley. Since the home is just 5 minutes from downtown Durango, you can spend your days exploring Durango (take the Trolley into town); or hike our 42 wooded acres.
When evening comes, you can kick back on the expansive decks or in the hot tub, in awe of the breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the Animas Valley, Red Cliffs and the Animas Mountains. Enjoy the romance of the steam train as it chugs by in the distance, with the mountains as your backdrop.

The Master bedroom boast its own private deck and gas fireplace! Also the 2nd Master bedroom on the main level has its own fireplace, patio and private entrance! The furniture, and all furnishing in our home are new or less than 8 yrs. old.
We know you and your family/guests will enjoy the vaulted ceilings, wire brushed knotty pine doors, hardwood floors, complete surround sound system, temperature controlled wine cooler and all the amenities (even a high efficiency washer and 2 dryers) . For our winter guests, our 2 car garage is heated.

Those 42 acres back up to 1275 acres of BLM land, and if you’re into rock climbing, they include elevation changes of 1,000 feet with some sheer rock faces.
You can also enjoy family game night with an Foosball table, Air Hockey table, Ping pong table, poker table top and many other games.
Be prepared to enjoy every aspect of Durango from this perfect location!
July 2018 we installed Air Conditioning, and new living room furniture in the main house.
July 2019 we added Air Conditioning to the Guesthouse.
November 2024, Newly remodeled kitchen.

Wonderful Stay

My family had a great stay. This home is a fantastic basecamp for all outdoor adventures in and around the Durango area. Dennis is a wonderful host and keeps very clean home and accommodating rental. Gorgeous views from the deck. Home is as advertised in the photos. Dennis was very responsive to any questions. We had no issues during our stay. Home was stocked with all required amenities. Will surely rent here again next time in Durango!

Didn't want to leave

This house was so comfortable. Dennis was in constant communication and answered all of our questions and anticipated what his guests would need. The views from the deck and kitchen windows are amazing. We managed to get a prime week of fall color and had many fabulous adventures in the area. The deck gets fabulous morning sun and it was hard to get moving after breakfast because we were so comfortable. A great family vacation home. Thank you Dennis!

Magic in Durango

Our group of eight was celebrating our son's 50th birthday - Polar Express. skiing and great restaurants in Durango. The host, Dennis, right after the booking, gave us great ideas about restaurants and things to do. Excellent communication continued up to the trip and during our stay. The house was perfect - location and appointments, beautiful views of the valley. I especially enjoyed the train passing below with steam rising through the trees. Dennis communicated proactively, checking on our needs and reminding us of amenities we may have overlooked or forgotten about. Due the cold weather we did not use the hot tub or the patio. This is a fantastic house in a superb location with an excellent host; we will be back, maybe for a month in the summer of 2027.

Graduation Celebration

Amazing, warm, luxurious home ideal for a family gathering or celebration! The living area and large surrounding deck were perfect for a crowd! I thoroughly enjoyed the kitchen and was able to prepare a very large meal with nearly all the conveniences, serving dishes, and cookware of my own kitchen! My husband struggled a bit with the dated grill, but all turned out fantastic! Plenty of room for yard games; bikes/ping pong table/air hockey really added to the family fun! We would definitely return to this incredible rental property! Thank you so much for making our weekend so memorable:)) Property manager, Bob, was also so very helpful, accommodating and available for all our needs!

This mountain home is amazing!!!!! The views are spectacular and the amenities are great.

The photos of this estate are spot on - no let-down or surprises when you get here. Dennis (the owner) has done a superb job with decorating the home and it is well-stocked with supplies and kitchen accessories. There is a brand new outdoor gas grill to use, and he just purchased new leather furniture for the great room, very nice! There are amazing decks around the home, so you can certainly find a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or beverage in the evening, all with spectacular views. We were entertained on most days watching 2 bucks and a doe make themselves at home on the property during various times of the day. Dennis and Rachel (property manager) are great to work with and very available should you have any questions. Would STRONGLY recommend this mountain home for your stay in the Durango area. Beautiful Home with Amazing Views!

We spent the most amazing week at this lovely home. From our booking, to communication prior to arrival, during our stay and after our departure, Dennis was amazing and a very gracious and conscientious host. I can see why it's their family's dream home....I actually dreamed it was mine while we were there! We spent a lot of time enjoying the home and spa, but were able to take the train to Silverton (DO IT....you'll thank me later!) , drove into Ouray and spend the day and take in all the sights of Durango, which is very close to the house, but far enough that you feel remote. We absolutely loved hearing the trains departing for Silverton in the morning and returning in the evening. Dennis recommended Chimayo for my 50th birthday dinner and it was amazing. We also ordered from HomeSlice Pizza one night and the pizza was great. The scenery from the home can't be beat and we enjoyed bird watching and the crazy chipmunks play from the decks. We had such a great time and won't hesitate to go back (hopefully soon!). Thanks, Dennis, for allowing us to share your home.

The house was in a great location only five minutes from Durango that you felt like you were away from the town. The views were amazing. This house is gorgeous. Set up on the mountain with incredible views and an amazing hot tub. The bedrooms and bathrooms plus decks were above and beyond what we expected. You also feel very at home and cozy. Highly recommend you stay here and it is close to downtown and up the mountain activities as well.

My first trip to Durango was in 1994, and I fell in love. I returned every year for a week, and in the summer of 2011 my family and I stayed for 3 weeks. I decided to purchase a home here in February 2012 . We wanted the views, the mountains, land to hike and explore on, and Durango's downtown spirit. Luckily we found it! Durango and our home provide all the things we love to do, in one beautiful spot; hiking, skiing, mountain biking, white water rafting, fishing, soaring, great restaurants, children's activities, great music, and least we forget the Steam Train.

Close to town 1 Mile! With amazing views in all directions. 42 acres of private mountain property that backs up to BLM land.
You can walk to the trolley called the 'T', and go to downtown Durango.
Durango Hot Springs & Spa is just 4 miles away and also has an Olympic size swimming pool.
Snow skiing just 15 minutes north at Purgatory. They have wonderful activities during the summer such as Mountain Biking, Alpine Slide, Zip Line, Ropes course,
Padddleboarding. Kayaking, and more...
