Great Place to Unplug & Reset!
What a great little oasis in the woods & great place to reset from the day in and day out! Sheryl & Phil were great Hosts! Cabin was clean, well situated and all expectations were met, with eco friendliness in mind. With the attention to detail, history of construction and renters guide, you're sure to enjoy the great outdoors in a quite, remote location. Looking forward to a return visit, during more favorable weather to enjoy all Crescent Moon Cabin has to offer!

WOW! Need I say more
WOW! Need I say more? Hosts - Top Notch Accommodations- Top Notch (read before you book) Location - Quiet and Serene Amenities- Hiking, Water, kayaking, fire pit, wildlife Sheryl and Philip are the best hosts. I had an issue booking (my own fault) and they were on it with no questions. Everything you need except drinking water (but who cares, 2 gallons a head is like $7 ea). Quiet. Kayaking is awesome. Hike to waterfall, rate it a 10. Clean and comfy. Beautifully built and decorated wood structure. Outdoor shower is really cool. Wildlife abound. Come here to relax, release, and turn the hustle and bustle off. Your stay is very deep in the NH wilderness. Just remember that and you’ll love it! Will come again!

Quiet and relaxing getaway
The cabin is secluded, clean, and well equipped. I stayed for three nights with my three sons ages 8 to 16. Even though it mostly rained we still had a great time watching movies, playing games, enjoying the fire pit, kayaking, and cooking our favorite meals. The rain kept us from doing much exploring through the trails around the woods, but we still had an enjoyable stay in the cabin. The hosts are lovely people. Cheryl baked us cookies.

True cabin experience, but with added comfort
Very clean cabin with small well equipped kitchen. Overall indoor layout and size was perfect with room to spare for a family of four. A lot of little things that add to comfort. Dock size was sufficient as well and pond is lovely and clean. Not a lot of neighbors. Plenty of things to do around the cabin if you are looking for authentic NH wilderness experience. I suggest reading info provided by hosts, talking to them and taking their advice in the matters. With their help we had a blast! Not to mention a collection of board games, puzzles, etc supplied for a rainy day! I definitely agree with needing 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach the cabin. And don’t forget your weapons of choice against mosquitoes.

Country Cottage
This cottage is nicely furnished and comfortable. Be sure to read the owners' desriptions carefully, however, as it is on a steep hill surrounded by trees, up above Half Moon Pond.

About the host

Hosted by Sheryl and Philippe Maltais

Host profile image
Phil and Sheryl have owned our main cabin since 2016. We eventually bought the waterfront land adjacent to us and had a cabin built with local timber. We finished the inside ourselves, which is a labor of love and want to share our little piece of heaven with others.

Why they chose this property

This property is located on the furthest end of Tucker Rd., offering privacy and a quiet retreat from the overstimulation of life. If you are seeking nightlife and entertainment you will have to travel 40min to the 2 largest towns of Hanover and Lebanon.

What makes this property unique

We have incorporated a grey water system, making this property eco-friendly. Much care and consideration have gone into fixtures and finishes to represent NH at its finest. The breakfast bar is constructed with live edge hemlock from this region and a local granite slab.
The pond is spring and brook fed, very clear water, appropriate for washing dishes and bathing safely. Do not drink the water.
Motor boats and jet ski's are not allowed on the pond.
Hike the roads and follow the many brooks to experience the small waterfalls all accessible from the cabin or your kayak that is provided for you. This region is seeped in historical mica mines offering unique exploration.
