Welcome to the Fishing Shack located in Gassville, Arkansas! This charming small home has previously served as a garage, a bakery, a private home, and now has been completely renovated in 2022 for you and your group to enjoy! You will be conveniently located in between the "Trout Capital, USA" of Cotter, AR (6 miles) and one of the "Best Small Towns in the South" by Southern Living of Mountain Home, AR (5 miles). From this central location you can be fishing on the White River at Rim Shoals Access (4 miles) in 7 minutes or enjoying a day on either of the area's massive lakes (Norfork or Bull Shoals) in less than 20 minutes. After a long day you can unwind and enjoy dinner and drinks in the downtown Mountain Home Entertainment District less than 10 minutes away. There is parking available for several vehicles, room to park boat trailers, and available Level 2 EV charging on site (may require additional fee).

Enjoy relaxing in the spacious front room and rest comfortably in the quiet bedroom, which is set up with a full size bunk bed and a twin size bunk bed (sleeps up to 6) for your family or group.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an old building that has been extensively renovated and updated. As such, there may be uneven floors, steps, narrow doorways, or other obstacles that prevent the house from being handicap accessible.

Amazing stay with two dogs!

We had such a great time at the place. We had plans to go out that weekend bit it rained the whole ti.e we were there. Luckily for us the place was so comfortable and fun with the board games and vegging out TVs we still had a great time! It's the perfect place for a little getaway, it's close to everything we could need.

Awesome location

Third trip to this property. We love the location and this is a great property to stay. Very comfortable and clean. We always go to Cotter, Bull Shoals-White River, Norfork and Mountain Home, all minutes away. This time we made a trip to Mammoth Springs State Park which is also beautiful and worth the hour drive. We had a wonderful time at this cottage. It was so welcoming inside and out. Super clean and the decor very nice. Had everything we needed and more. Located in a perfect place for the area. So much to do and see in just minutes from the house. Gassville is nice but also visit Cotter, Flippin, Bull Shoals-White River, Norfork and Mountain Home. We had 4 nights but if you can stay longer do it. Will book again! Matt was great to work with and available if needed. Thank you for sharing such a great place.

Founded in 2022, Cypress Brake Investments is a little family-run operation. Your hosts, Matt and Trevor, are joined by Matt's sister (Krista) and father (Larry) in making sure your stay in our home is a pleasant one.

Although his family originally moved to the area from Iowa, Matt grew up in Mountain Home and moved back to the area from Chicago in 2019. Originally from Stuttgart, Arkansas, Trevor joined him and moved to Mountain Home in 2021. The Prairie House and the Fishing Shack are our first projects and we hope you enjoy them.

Why they chose this property

When we bought this property it was primarily a garage that someone had attempted to convert into a small rental house. The interior was in very poor condition and needed to be completely redone, but due to its location near the White River, Cotter, and Mountain Home we saw the potential to turn it into a cute place for visitors to stay that would provide them more comfortable accommodations than a hotel and room to park their boats. We ripped the entire structure down to the studs (and beyond) and renovated it into a "fishing shack" we hope you'll enjoy.

What makes this property unique

The house is optimally located for visitors that want to be close to the rivers, lakes, and town without sacrificing space to relax. Located right on US 62/412 in Gassville, you can be fishing in less than 10 minutes, in Mountain Home in less than 10 minutes, on the lake in 15 minutes, or hiking or biking in one of the many parks or recreation areas in the area within 10-15 minutes.
