About this property
Remodeled villa, just a short walk to the public beach and town!
Casa de Esperanza - House of Hope! We are so happy to share our home with you!
Our goal is to have a small number of couples return year after year to share in this special place. This is a newly remodeled villa (2020) just a 20 minute walk to the public beach, golf course and town. (There is not access to the beach at Las Brisas Resort). Lovely pool area - only 8 units in the complex, so it’s never crowded. Quiet, peaceful, with amazing views of the ocean, mountains and bird life. Sit and enjoy the slower pace of life in the mornings while you drink coffee on one of the three terraces, or watch the sunset with a cocktail in hand in the evening. The fully equipped kitchen will insure you can make the best meals or cocktails that you wish. There is a couch and two chairs with ottomans in the living room. Please bring a FireStick or equivalent so you can enjoy the Smart TV. Each bedroom has a king size bed, full ensuite bath, room darkening shades and sliding glass doors. A Weber grill is available for you to use - charcoal is not provided. A washer/dryer in the laundry room with clothesline. There are so many restaurants in the Ixtapa/Zih area, something for everyone! I have a list of English speaking cabs in Esperanza. The public beach is a 20 minute walk, or a very inexpensive, short cab ride. There are quite a few different beaches to try out in the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo area. I have a listing of those as well. Basically, this area is magical! Once you go to Ixtapa - I can almost guarantee you will count the days until you can go back! We love it there, we love our Casa de Esperanza and we hope you do too!

About the host
Hosted by Jeanne Stierwalt

Bill and I came to Ixtapa for the first time in 1997. We fell in love with the ocean, the breezes, the food, the people - just basically: everything! Being farmers from central Illinois it was quite a jump for us to become home owners in Mexico - but we knew we wanted a vacation home in the place where we always felt so happy. Spending time in Ixtapa has taught us a deep respect for the ocean, wildlife, and the people who live here. We ae happy to share our home with you.
Why they chose this property
Casa de Esperanza has been a work of love for us! When we found her in 2019 she had been empty for several years. We had a vision and began the remodel in 2020; moving doors, windows, etc. We think we did a pretty darn good job making this villa a wonderful place to relax, unwind, reconnect - whatever it is that you want from your vacation. The property isn't for partiers - just to be honest. It's quiet, it's peaceful, the property staff is amazing and so friendly. The pool area is perfect for reading, swimming, napping, sunbathing, dining - just a haven for relaxing and having a good time! Both the bedrooms have super comfy king-size beds with these amazing memory foam toppers on them. People swear they have the best nights sleep they have ever had! A fully equipped kitchen, a bar to store your liquor in, super nice glassware for said liquor and amazing sunsets! You will learn why we love it so much! On top of all that there are top notch restaurants a short, inexpensive cab ride away. You can go see the crocodiles out at Playa Linda, ride bikes on the new bike path, tour the garden district or go to Zihuantanejo for shopping, dining or sightseeing! You can be as busy or as chill as you want.
What makes this property unique
One of the big draws for us to this property in 2019 was the amazing views and the fact that it wasn't a high rise. We weren't going to need to wear wrist bands anymore, or check in at the front desk or scramble for lawn chairs. It is a small, charming community of 8 villas set in an almost jungle-like setting with great views and sounds of the ocean. At night, when you sit on one of the terraces you will see the lights of Ixtapa off in the distance and watch the fishing boats head out. It's a feeling that is just hard to describe - but we just bet you will love it!
