About this property
Ocean Cove Retreat
Waterfront property with unobstructed water views, Victoria, Canada and mountains. The house sits on 5 acres and is secluded amidst doug fir, madrone, and maple trees. The property offers beautiful gardens, a patio, and a large wrap around deck. It is stunningly outfitted with koa wood floors, a beautiful wood burning fireplace, soaker tub, hand blown glass sconces and chandelier, backlit agate kitchen island - You will not find a more beautiful and unique place on the Olympic Peninsula.
This custom house was constructed with views in mind. Ample glass affords views of water, mountains, forest and garden. The master suite, located upstairs, has its own private balcony with outdoor heater, double shower, full sized soaker tub and walk-in closet. An office rounds out the upper floor.
The main floor features a two story slate covered entryway with custom hand-blown glass chandelier. This space opens into the living room, with beautiful koa wood floors, a wonderful wood fireplace and a view to die for. The kitchen looks onto the garden and features granite counters, gas stove and a backlit agate island that is perfect for breakfast or enjoying a glass of wine. Rounding out the main floor are a dining room, breakfast nook, main floor bathroom, laundry room and garage.
Downstairs has a third bedroom which also contains an elliptical, small weights, yoga mats, and more.
A wrap-around deck faces south, east and north, providing a sheltered location for almost any wind direction. A propane BBQ is available on the deck as are tables and chairs. Stairs go down from the deck to a protected patio which is the most sheltered outdoor place to be if there is any wind. The propane firepit provides warmth on cool evenings and is a wonderful place around which to enjoy a glass of wine.
The house is setback about 100 feet from the cliff edge. Guests (please be careful!) are able to walk to the cliff edge and have 180 degree views up and down the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Three separate garden areas provide color almost year-round, and if you are lucky, you might find some blueberries, huckleberries or strawberries to nibble on. The lavender blooms from July through October. Much of the property is covered in Douglas fir forest with salal providing ground cover.
Guests have access to the entire house and 5-acre property with the exception of 3 closets in the basement where the owners have stored their personal possessions.
The property has over 300 feet of high bluff waterfront. The bluff is 240 feet high with sheer cliffs to the water and rocks below, providing stunning views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Victoria and Canada.
