Charles was a wonderful guest. We look forward to hosting him again.
We spent out thanksgiving weekend here. It was a lovely property. It was clean, comfortable and the photos are accurate. We had an issue with the wood burning stove and the property management company responded very quickly. We suggested additional information about this feature and they were already working on it. Our only request would be better water pressure for shower in the main bathroom and a heads up that there can be a lot of plumbing noise from the basement utility room. Otherwise we were very comfortable at this property.
The place needed a good, thorough, over-all cleaning. Used bandaids found in a bedroom - sliding door channels filled with a large variety of dead insects - deck boards deteriorating to the point of creating a danger of splinters - outdoor garbage containment was raided each night we were there, no matter what precautions we took. There was no Kleenex tissue upon our arrival and one roll of paper towels. There were 7 mismatched chairs at the dining room table for 8 adults and 2 children. The two bathrooms were both on the main floor with one being an ensuite, thus making it awkward, if not impossible, to use at times. As well, people in the two bedrooms in the basement were forced to come upstairs if they wished to use a bathroom, a potentially hazardous trip at 2 a.m. for some. The exterior property was probably attractive at some time in the past but it appeared that the groundskeeper had thrown in the towel. The grass had been mowed but lovely flowers were barely visible in the various garden beds that were overgrown with weeds. Decorative lighting on the frequently sagging fences and railings was falling off in places and the grass along these fences and near the cottage had not been trimmed at all, marring what could have been a very picturesque scene. To be fair, live bugs (not dead ones) and mouse traps, I guess, are part of living in the country and the response to the email we sent was friendly, quick and full (thank you) but my statements above remain.Sincerely
