Host was very friendly! The property is exactly as described. Could have been cleaned a tad better before we arrived, but the overall experience of the stay was great!
Great stay with excellent communication, check in was smooth, they were very responsive to any questions. However, it’s important to note that can be loud at times from upper levels.

The apartment was down a steep slope from the driveway parking area. There was no proper path and various concrete tiles were strewn along but not connected. These could have been a trip hazard.
The space itself was dimly lit with only ceiling lights and no lamps of any kind.
The kitchen was poorly equipped. Silverware, glassware and dishes were sparse. Enough for one oerson but not a family.
The bathroom is in one of the bedrooms so no access to the bathroom from the common areas or the 2nd bedroom except through the 1st bedroom.
The host was kind and responsive. There was a problem with the icemaker and he promptly found a remedy.
Aside from a couple of small notes, this was an overall pleasant stay with a kind and communicative host. Because of some travel delays, it was nearly 10 pm when we first arrived, and yet the path to the door was helpfully well-lit with motion sensing lights. I couldn’t get the door open, but I messaged the host, and he promptly came outside to help us, and supplied us with a new key. That being said, as this is a basement unit nestled underneath the host’s family home, there were a few periods of notable overhead noise. This is to be expected with a basement unit, kind of like having upstairs neighbors, but worth noting for future guests. Another thing is that the kitchen was well stocked with equipment like a blender, toaster, pot for cooking, as well as dishes and utensils, but it was not as clean as it could have been, with a bit of visible food left in the sink, and some grease on the dishes that were in the cabinets. The bathroom was in one of the bedrooms, so those in the other room couldn’t use it without disturbing the others. It also had no hand soap, so it’s lucky that one of my friends had brought a bar with her. There were, however, plenty of soft towels available for use, the beds were very comfortable, and the house was in a nice neighborhood with easy access to everything we needed. We had a wonderful weekend at our friends’ wedding, and were grateful to have this cozy place, especially after our previous booking was canceled without notice.
When we booked this place the description was falsely advertised as a 2 bedroom house for rent. What they don't bother to put in the description is that it is a 2 bedroom fully furnished basement with people living upstairs. The place was clean and in a very nice neighborhood. The access to the "front" door is not handicap or elderly accessible. We wanted to see my wife's grandmother while in town and she could barely make it up the steep hill leading from the basement. I was very worried she was going to hurt herself just getting down the hill. When it rained the hill was incredibly slippery and very hard to get back to the driveway. You cannot control the air conditioning temp from the basement. You have to ask permission like a child!! It got so hot in that basement that my 8 yr old son was throwing up the second night. There were contractors upstairs being incredibly loud replacing an upstairs floor while I was there, they worked from 7am-6pm. The owner should of had enough common sense to either cancel my reservation or have the contractors come on a different day, not just send us a message saying someone is working on the floor. We heard hammers banging and floor being ripped up almost our entire stay.

I guess you saw a picture of the unit on vrbo, and it's well-defined enough to know that is not the whole house. More so, there is pavement layered to the entrance path of the unit, which can't be slippery during the rainy season, I have had an older guest that stayed in the unit couple of times. Pertaining to air conditioners I wasn't aware that is faulty until I checked I checked and that's the reason I blocked dates to fix them.
