Rental past its prime, needs updates.
We stayed at this house over 12 years ago and had a great experience. I cannot say the same for the trip we just took. The house has not be updated at all since then, which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, except it hasn’t been maintained at all. We had an issue in all four bathrooms in the main house, from toilets not flushing to showers and sinks not draining. The house had been spot cleaned, there was a dust and filth in all the inconspicuous places. It’s a shame because the location, layout, and amenities of the house could be great. It’s not worth the high end price anymore. We called the rental company three times to come out and fix the bathrooms, they answered and were nice every time, but they never sent anyone out to help.

Great location
Overall - Beautiful views and great location! Nice back porch areas with plenty of seating. Downtown Asheville & Biltmore weren’t too far for day trips. House was the perfect size for our large family. We had seen previous reviews so we talked with the property mgr Jason prior and he made sure the BBQ grills had propane and the living room gas fireplace was working. Some areas of the home could’ve been a little cleaner (dusty downstairs, oven) and the furniture is pretty worn but we still enjoyed our stay. Be aware - the wifi is pretty weak and had a difficult time getting TVs to connect.

TERRIBLE internet service, no response from property manager
The listing says high speed internet but this is not true. The only way we could watch tv was to move a tv to the kitchen nook where the router is. All 8 of us had to sit in the nook to watch tv. To watch local channels we had to go buy an antenna or use one of our cell phone hotspots. When we reported the issue we were basically told the internet is spotty in the house. They told us to reboot the router which we had already done. One of our family members said the router was 4G and needed to be updated to 5G. We tried to tell the property manager this but it fell on deaf ears. You can only watch apps on the tv and you have to use your own log in info. We couldn’t watch any of these because the internet was so poor. One of the downstairs toilets was not working. We reported it the day we got there (Wednesday) but nobody came to check it until Saturday and this was after we had to report the issue again. It couldn’t be repaired that day so we were never able to use that bathroom. The microwave in the kitchen also did not work. It would allow you to turn it on but it would turn off after a little less than a minute. It wasn’t heating, either. The local property manager brought us another microwave on Saturday but told us there was nothing wrong with the other one. We weren’t there when they came so we couldn’t show them what was wrong with it. We called and sent a text to the property manager 3 times but no response. House is beautiful and spacious. Kitchen is well equiped.

6/10 Okay

Great potential but needs work
The property and the house have great potential, it’s beautiful and the views are breathtaking, but it needs a deep cleaning, organization around the house and a lot of updating. The furniture is outdated and rundown, the tv’s are horrible none of them work and wifi is terrible, the kitchen is extremely disorganized as well. It’s sad to see such a beautiful home not well maintained.

Location is perfect!
Although the location of the property were perfect, the amenities were very disappointing for a premium priced property. Since many family members traveled in to convene, we would have assumed basic condiments like sugar, salt, pepper, dish washing pods and foil/wrap would be provided, they were not. Additionally, the furniture was very worn, dated and uncomfortable. The gas fireplace in the main room was not in working order and the property manager came to try to get working to no avail. There were no fireplace tools for the two wood burning fireplaces, even though wood was provided. He also noted and apologized for the landscaping being over grown as the owner apparently fired the landscaper. Lastly, both outdoor grills were not in working order where a rats nest was formed inside of one of them. The location and size of home were ideal but would not recommend staying here for a premium price without significant updates to the furniture and basic stocked items.
