Summary: Located in the heart of the east village, this cabin is within walking distance to all local, restaurants, coffee shops and bars! Having the ability to walk out the front door and cruise down to the village for some food, fun and relaxation is priceless. If you choose to stay in and take advantage of the full kitchen and a home cooked meal you can choose to sit inside or on the large back deck and take in all the beauty the Sierra Nevada's have to offer.
The Space: WiFi, DirecTv, propane fire place in the living room, eat in kitchen, charcoal bbq.
Guest Access: Guests will have access to the entire house and decks, with the exception of the shed located off the rear deck.
The Neighborhood: The neighborhood is GREAT! Everyone is very friendly and make you feel at home. There are many weekend homes in the neighborhood, however there are also residents which live there full time. This is why we ask you keep the noise to a minimum, out of respect for our neighbors.
Getting Around: The cabin is located about 1/2 mile from the Dorabella Camp ground and Shaver Lake access, 1.5 miles from the Camp Edison day use beach and 3 miles to the marina.
Interaction with Guests: My wife or myself will be available via phone, text or email throughout your stay. We have found communicating through the Airbnb app works very well.

Our family spent our 2025 thanksgiving here and had one of our best times here at Mellow Yellow. The host has everything you need to even spend a special occasion here at Mellow Yellow. I would recommend this cabin and as for us will have a future stay here.
We enjoyed our stay. Justin got back to us quickly when we had questions. Clean and tidy would describe this small house. Our only minor complaint would be the paper towels were only 1/4 full and there was only one dining chair. Justin assured me there were 3 chairs on order. It was also nice to have pretty level parking for 2 cars

Cute cabin, clean, quiet neighborhood, great communication with the host. We can't wait to stay here again.
Quaint older cabin in a great location. The stairs are a little steep and open from the bedrooms so keep in mind if you have little children. It was very clean and perfect for our stay.
Super cute cabin in an awesome location. The bedrooms lack privacy as they’re separated by a hallway but no walls/doors. This wasn’t a problem for us as a family. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will likely rebook if we visit Shaver again.
My son and I went up for 2 days to fish. Great little place to stay. My only complaint is the bedrooms are upstairs, and the bathroom is downstairs. I had knee surgery recently, so it was kind of tough for me to go up and down the stairs during the night. Other than that, the cabin was great. definitely stay there again
We enjoyed our stay at Shaver Lake. The check in process was super easy and the host was quick to reply or offer assistance. We found the property to be so-so in cleanliness. The entire place needed a good deep cleaning inside and out. The patio set was very dusty and dirty with cobwebs. The barbecue had not been cleaned for quite some time. We had to clean the patio set to use it. We came on a fairly warm weekend for the area. We were provided with fans, which was very nice, but one did not work. There were ants in the kitchen and bathroom, which we understand coming from the mountains ourselves, but they were a big nuisance to deal with. Some ant traps would be a nice addition. The kitchen cupboards were greasy and dirty with fingerprints as well as some of the dishes and pans we attempted to use. Numerous chairs both inside and out were broken prior to our arrival. This little mountain place has INCREDIBLE potential with just a little more TLC and focus on details.

Sarah was great guest. So easy to communicate with and left the cabin in great shape. I can't wait to host again.
Thank you for letting me know about the exterior, my maintenance guy went up after your checkout and power washed everything. I also asked the pest company to drop some ant traps off to leave in the house.
