We loved the house and the secluded location. Very private and we loved the pool as well as the dock on the lake. We had a wonderful time and Theresa was very quick to communicate and gracious. I would highly recommend this property.
The property is fantastic to get away and unplug with a great view of the lake. Just be ready for a little bit of a climb back from the dock. We were already talking about coming back again sometime!
This place was amazing! We truly enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The pool was great and we were able to go fishing at the lake too! The hike is tough for older people, but we loved it! It made us feel right at home. You cant forget the million dollar view of the lake, the mountains and the sunset! We hope to go again next year. Thanks Terry
We stayed 4 nights at this property and it was wonderful, beautiful home with a pool and private dock, lots of privacy and quiet!! The host was very accommodating and answered all questions, loved the book with local information and details of the property, would highly recommend.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the house. The property was very clean and spacious. The location is secluded and perfectly situated for a relaxing vacation.
We loved our stay and made so many family memories. It was beautiful, safe and so clean.
It has everything you need and more. Thank you Theresea! Blessing to your family from ours.
The property is wonderful and well appointed. Towels and linens you would have on your own home. Peaceful and quiet with deer walking by. Great information about the area. We were there for LU graduation and spent several days exploring the area. Welcoming gifts and a book full on information. Would book again if we were going to be in the area. The hosts were wonderful.
We had a lovely Labor Day weekend at this beautiful property with breathtaking views. The house was set up perfectly for us - the kids loved the lower level bunks, and the parents had comfortable rooms upstairs. We spent a lot of time enjoying the sun porch, and the kids even braved the pool (despite it being a cooler weekend). The tree house was also a favorite spot for the kids to play and read. The hike to the water is challenging, but spending an afternoon in the sun at the 2-story dock was worth it. We enjoyed a concert at the nearby Coves amphitheater at Smith Mountain Lake, and also made smores at the well equipped fire pit. Travelers should note that the nearby dam can open and change the current/conditions of the lake very quickly, so be aware if swimming/boating. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much!
This home was truly like being invited into someone’s warm and beautiful home. The views were breathtaking, and the home was clean, comfortable, and amazing. This is a must see again on our list!
Overall we enjoyed our stay, the pool was great especially for the kiddos. The kids, my mom and I did not make the walk down to the dock because my fiance said it was pretty rough coming back up.
The house was great, had everything we needed. Had a storm on Saturday and power went out, owners came over and hooked up generator.
The trail to the lake was a little too much for some of our group but the views from the sunroom were fabulous.
Overall it was a great weekend.
We spent a weekend at Stoney Ridge Lodge with family from NC and VA, and loved our time at this home. The kitchen is well-appointed, bathrooms and bedrooms ample and well-stocked with linens, etc, and seating areas comfortable and inviting. The walk down to the floating dock is steep, but worth the trip - we would love to come back in the summertime for swimming and boating. Highly recommend!
This is a very peaceful and private property. The home is very clean and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything you might need. We loved the sunroom, such a lovely view. Theresa responded quickly to any questions and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend this beautiful home.
We stayed over Veteran's day weekend. Loved the home. Theresa is a wonderful host - she had a sweet personalized welcome sign for us inside when we checked in. The view from the sunroom overlooking the lake was amazing. We also enjoyed kayaking and fishing on the lake.
Only thing worth noting is that the downhill walk to the lake from the house is somewhat steep. It's only about 2 minutes of walking, but a pretty nice workout when coming back.
Our family spent a wonderful week in this lovely home with everything provided, a beautiful pool and outside activities, a healthy walk to the river and actually caught a fish. The host was more than accommodating to my numerous questions...we got lost on some of VA back roads. We felt very blessed being surrounded by her positive thoughts throughout the home. We took our grandkids to English Park in Altivista to play ball and the fantastic splash pad and the Smith Mountain lake arcade, mini golf, ice cream, etc....about 30 minute drive. Thank you Teri!@
We anticipated a week together on the lake and it was amazing. The house was immaculate, the kitchen was well stocked and we were able to have 2-3 adults working and prepping with enough room. The u shaped booth was nice because all 8 of us were able to gather around it.We enjoyed the sunroom, that’s where we played our games in the evening and enjoyed the mornings and ever changing lake views. It was nice to have 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The kids and adults enjoyed the pool, we were in it when we were at the house the 6 days we stayed. As stated in listing the walk to and from the dock is steep, but all of is were able to enjoy the tranquility there. We rented a pontoon for 3 days and to be on the lake is a special treat, it is beautiful!!We went to Smith Mountain Lake Dam and it was an informative presentation in the building and impressive dam to see. You can see the lights on top of the dam at night from the house. We were not disappointed with the listing or property. We were fortunate to meet our hosts Teri and Roy, they were friendly, informative and went out of their way to make sure our week was enjoyable.
Home is exactly as pictured. Everything was very clean. Kitchen had everything you could possibly want or need. Lots of indoor games as well as pool floats, ladder ball and corn hole provided. We enjoyed our stay so much that we didn't leave the property. Thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Saw a bear, deer, skink lizard and best of all, a bear and a pileated woodpecker. A couple people in our group made the hike down to the dock which is pretty strenuous on the way back up. It is beautiful once you get down there. We do not recommend doing this if you have any kind of mobility issues. Theresa and her husband are gems. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved staying at the house on the lake. The home is very well appointed and labeled, having EVERYTHING a family could need while staying. The views are beautiful and the drive from any direction is just so pretty. The home is tucked in an area that is not at all populated, but grocery stores are about 25 minutes away. Unlucky us, all the stuff we wanted to do was closed on weekends. :(
The Lakeland the dock are so relaxing and so pretty. The walk down is STEEP, making the walk up a challenge for those that are elderly or health impaired. But if you can make it, it’s totally worth it. The hosts were lovely, responsive, generous (offering early check in) and haven’t left even one tiny detail forgotten. We were a family of I, ages 12-83 nd we all really enjoyed the home.
