Very clean, enjoyed cooking in the kitchen w all newer appliances including dishwasher and washer and dryer. Nice shower and bathroom. Beautiful and peaceful view of the lake through the amazing windows! Had a great time and would love to come back!
The cabin is a great little space to relax and the lake is wonderful. The host is very accommodating and showed up quickly to fix an issue with the water. Will definitely come back.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, thank you for being such great guests.
We had a great time. It was a little noisy when we arrived Friday next to the trucking company. Saturday and Sunday were much better. Cabin was nice and clean. Nice big TV. Salt and pepper were about the only things included to cook with. There is a coffee maker but no coffee. Pillows were a little uncomfortable and there is only one additional blanket in the house. Plenty of towels and wash cloths. But no soap, shampoo or conditioner. Fire pit and lake were amazing! Dirt bikes on the other side of the lake took away from the peacefulness every once in a while.

All those items were on the list of what to bring. We are sorry we did not know you had not seen the list that is posted on our web site. All our cabins are included in that list. Thank you for staying with us and being great guests. We look forward to your booking with us for your next visit.
Wonderful location, easy to get around. Pond was nice to relax and do a little fishing. House backs up to a dairy farm, so there is some noise when they wash their trucks, no wi-fi but actually kinda nice to unplug, just beware, mattress could be a little softer. But nitpicking aside amazing spot and would return for sure

We are so glad you had a wonderful relaxing stay at Homestead. We look forward to your booking with us again soon.
We were so excited to come to this cabin for this weekend. We were celebrating our 20th Anniversary early because of scheduling conflicts on our actual anniversary date. The location was beautiful. The cabin was very nice and everything was great until 6:45am on Sunday morning. The water did not work. The toilet could not be flushed. No shower.....no coffee could be made. I texted the emergency contact number listed with what was going on. I was told to call Brown County Water Company. Not sure why, as a paying guest, it was my job to do that, but, I did. The lady at the water company was very nice, but, could not give us a time that someone would be out to fix it.I texted the emergency number back to let them know that we were on our way to turn in the key because we both truly needed to use the bathroom and we were wanting coffee and food. This was over 4 hours before we were required to be out of the cabin. After awhile I received a text back letting me know that the water line was out of their control and to have a safe trip home. While I understand that it was out of their control........we called the water company ourselves. We paid for a rental until 11am. We had to leave early because of reasons out of our control. I think some sort of partial refund or an offer of a discount in the future would be something offered to us. That has not happened yet.I would definitely recommend this cabin, but, would hope that someone would reach out to us to make the ending better
We could not have enjoyed our stay more. The house feels a lot bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside and was very clean. The set up really worked well for what we needed. We loved the outside area as well. The seclusion and private pond were amazing. Hoping to come back soon with the kids! Thanks for everything!!

We are so glad you had such a great stay. We look forward to you booking with us for your next visit.
Really cute cabin, albeit not the easiest to find at first. Recommended you check in while it’s still light out! Loved the atmosphere and was great proximity to hiking and downtown Nashville, IN. Overall we liked the place, but gave it 4 stars just bc of the bed quality. The mattress is old and springy, and doesn’t offer much support. Neither myself or my partner slept all that well. For the price and for the effort put into making it homey, a nice bed would go a long way to providing value. Otherwise a great stay and friendly check-in process!

Thank you for staying with us. We look forward to your booking with us for your next visit.
The cabin was clean and updated. The lake being a few steps off the front porch was also a great addition! Although we didn’t get to enjoy the cabin as much as we would have liked (we were there for graduation weekend), I’d say over all the stay was great. I would definitely like to come back again and just spend the weekend on the property relaxing. The only downside is it’s right next to a dairy farm and it does smell at time, but it was nothing that ruined our stay. Would definitely recommend this place. It’s absolutely beautiful in Brown County.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Homestead. It is actually one of the largest dairy farms in Indiana. All over the county you will see their black and white cows. They have leased almost every field in our county. Super nice people. We look forward to you booking with us for your next visit.
Overall was a great little cabin. Daughter is a student at IU and this was an inexpensive alternate to hotel rooms that were thru the roof for the weekend. Its a bit of a drive down crooked rural roads, but a beautiful part of the country. Would be great access to Nashville.
Peaceful and remote, but the check in process is a bit onerous. You have to go to the Property Manager office to pick up the key and drop it back off, but it is 5 miles in the wrong direction from the cabin, so adds at least 20 minutes to the drive from Bloomington on check in/out day. Also, they have written directions on a small map to find the place. Made me feel like a pirate with a buried treasure map. Less than ideal when it is dark out and you are tired trying to find street signs at 55 mph. Give a GPS coordinate, at least, or an address. I ended up dropping a pin to navigate to/from once I got there, made it 10x easier.
No wifi, but Verizon had great service. Put in a Starlink, and make the front door a Bluetooth code, eliminate the keys, and it would be perfect.
The place was super clean, the little pond was beautiful, the bathroom was modern, kitchen would be great.
Despite the key process, I will book here again, because its worth it.

We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Homestead Cabin. And of course very rual rds. As to the map, we usually mention not to follow map, which is why it has the turn for turn directions and the address at bottom of that page. Gps is not always reliable here, but glad it worked out for you. With over 105 cabins that we manage in this area, we find keys always reliable ( no batteries to srop working at the most inconvenient time!). We could maybe help find a cabin a little closer to Bloomington for your next visit and if booking direct with us save you even more $. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to your nexy visit.
The house was clean and the lake was nice, but there was a boat listed at one time thats no longer on the property, the kitchen is barely stocked to cook anything and for the same price most places we had had some kind of entertainment in the house such as internet or cable, also normally I have never stayed at a house without some kinda coffee available. Just remember with this property you have to provide EVERYTHING.
