We loved the quite location, super close to town and perfect location for trails. And, plenty of space to park 3 trucks with trailers!

Great Place
The location is relaxing and peaceful. The property is clean, secluded, and beautiful! The house is everything the photos show and more. We will definitely be booking again when we visit Deadwood again.
The place was clean. The area was quiet. It was centrally located for us to explore Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore and we even drove out to Badlands National Park. We visited Deadwood and Sturgis which are really close. If I’m ever back in this area I would stay here again!
The location was perfect for us. Close to UTV trails. The house was beautiful. We had 2 dogs with us and it worked well. Will recommend to others.

We had a "Great Escape"
We enjoyed our stay at the Great Escape so much. Easy to get to and very quiet. The owner lives just down the hill from the house, and was a great guy! It was good to have a large place that allowed my daughter's dog to enjoy it too. Thanks for providing this wonderful place.
Great property in the hills by deadwood. We stayed 4 nights and brought UTVs that could be parked in the garage overnight.
Great stay, we will be back!

Great property, no wifi
A lot of space for multiple people, great trails around the area. There wasn’t WiFi available which made using phones a challenge. Only 1 tv with antenna channels available.
Great location for access to off road trails. Very peaceful and quiet location a few miles from Deadwood. No wifi available but owner has been trying to make things happen. We had cell tower access good enough to upload pics. In my opinion the peaceful out in the boonies location was worth not having wifi. Owner stopped by to introduce himself and offer info on the area and trails. Would come back again.

Spring Break 2025
We arrived around check in time and attempted to get in the front door and the keypad was dead. We called and waited for a return call, and during our wait we found the garage side door unlocked and were able to enter through the Garage. We got unloaded and started to get dinner going, we found multiple dirty pans and dishes. Overall we disconnected from our crazy life in Las Vegas and the kids played Hide n Seek, karaoke, and family games as we cooked together for 2 days. We even had a snowball fight and went sledding. It was a great getaway and beautiful cabin.

Mice!! Trapped 7 in under 2 days, beds are horrible, septic cover is broke and a hazard
Beautiful setting and house looks good. Seemed clean at first but then the mice came out and found dead mice still in traps. Trapped 7 more. Yes it ’s a rural property but have stayed in other BH properties without mice. Sliding door to deck sticks so hard to open and close. Septic cover is broke and odor around deck plus hazard to kids and dogs in yard.

Cindy, we are disheartened to read that you experienced issues that kept you from enjoying your stay. We apologize for any uninvited critters and our local manager assured us that they will hire a pest control company to take care of this concern. Additionally, they spoke with the homeowner about the items you mentioned that need some TLC and they will be remedied as well. We appreciate your feedback as we view it as an opportunity to improve and hope to have the chance to provide an exceptional experience in the future.
We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the property among the pines and the colorful foliage of the aspen. The proximity to Deadwood and Lead were a draw. The instructions for access to the property (i.e., getting in the front door) were not accurate. We were able to get in via an unlocked side door to the garage. The interior of the house could have been a little cleaner with emphasis on the wall behind the table, the baseboards and the bathroom floors. One of the couches was great, the other, very uncomfortable. The kids, especially, were disappointed with the lack of connectivity. My husband was frustrated by the quality of the cookware. There were also no kitchen essentials such as tin foil, plastic wrap, etc., with is helpful for travelers who may be flying in or coming from a distance and unable to bring all those sorts of things.
