The Space:
Welcome to your Cape Town home-from-home: a comfortable, spacious 2-bedroom apartment perfect for families or friends wanting a relaxed base to enjoy the South Peninsula.
This apartment is part of a larger home that's been thoughtfully divided into three private units. Your space is fully self-contained, with its own entrance, and offers great privacy along with everything you need to feel at home.
Upstairs, you’ll find a bright and open-plan living area with a cozy lounge, dining space, and a well-equipped kitchen, all leading out to a private balcony with a built-in braai, outdoor dining area, and beautiful mountain valley views. It’s a great spot for easy dinners, morning coffee, or sundowners while the kids wind down after a beach day.
The main bedroom has a comfortable king bed with soft cotton linen, while the second bedroom has three single beds, perfect for kids or extra guests. There’s plenty of space to spread out and relax.
On warm days, cool off in the pool or soak in the private hot tub (space shared only with the hosts). In the evenings, the indoor fireplace makes for a cozy place to settle in and relax.
This spot is ideal for families looking to enjoy the quieter side of Cape Town: with beaches, nature reserves, and little towns like Simon’s Town and Kalk Bay just a short drive away.
Long stay discounts applied in the app. Please put in your preferred dates for the prices to show correctly.
Please note that smoking is permitted only on the balcony or outside areas. Access to the pool in the common area requires navigating a flight of stairs, with handrails provided for safety.

Please note the following:
The area is a quiet neighbourhood surrounded by nature and as such we have to request that you please respect the neighbours of Welcome Glen. No loud music and shouting after 11pm on weekends and 9pm in the week would be greatly appreciated.
Guest Access:
There is off street parking on our driveway for a vehicle. You also have access to the pool in the common area down a flight of stairs from your balcony. Please note that the hot tub and the pool area are NOT used by other guests however we (the hosts) do have access to this space as it's on the lower level.
The Neighborhood:
Welcome Glen is a small town hidden between the mountains of the South Peninsula, very well sheltered from the South Easter that blows through most of the summer. The neighbours are lovely and we always look out for each other. The area is peaceful and the sounds of the birds and the breeze through the tree's will most certainly relax you on your trip to the Deep South. The stars at night are something to behold! Truly fabulous lounging on your balcony and watching the night.
As the apartment is situated in a quiet neighborhood, we have to stress that we do not allow parties at this property. This by no means means you can't have fun but we do request that the music gets turned down by 11pm on the weekends (Friday / Saturday) and by 9pm in the week from Sunday. This is a request out of courtesy for the neighbors.
The Deep South area is famous in August for the whales coming into the bay to birth their calves. We have some fantastic whale watching companies eagerly waiting to take you on a trip to see our visitors.
Kalk Bay, situated about 15 minutes from Welcome Glen, was voted as one of the 12 coolest suburbs in the world by Forbes!! A day out there will certainly show you why!
As the area is at the foot of Table Mountain Nature Reserve, we do have an abundance of wild life in the area. As such, we request that you please keep all doors and windows closed when not at home as some of the resident baboons, like to enjoy themselves to visible food. That being said: we do not often get the baboons at the house but just as a precaution. The area is also a delight for bird watchers especially with our resident weaver bird in the spring/summer months.
Getting Around:
Welcome Glen is slightly isolated and we would recommend a car hire. Uber does operate in the area and we also have local transport services (cabs) that are well priced and very friendly. There is off street parking for 1 vehicle.
Other Things to Note:
To remain compliant, we do require that guests complete a pre-checkin which includes uploading your Identity document / passport, verify with a selfie and sign our terms and conditions. Please remember we do live in a neighborhood: a stay at Welcome Glen Mountain Gem is a stay with the locals. We request that you please respect the quiet nature of the area: no loud music and shouting after 11pm on the weekends (Friday / Saturday) and after 9pm in the week (Sunday - Thursday). Your cooperation in the matter would be greatly appreciated.
We do live on the property and keep to ourselves but we are available at any time should you need something or assistance.
Due to the nature of the construction of the building, it can get quite loud when the rain POURS down. Normal gentle rain is not too loud. The roof also expands and contracts when it heats and cools down. Ear plugs are provided if you find the noise too intrusive.
If you are allergic to cats, please reconsider booking this property as the cats do come up to say hi and we cannot keep them locked inside for the duration of your stay.
Interaction with Guests:
We live on the property and are available at all times. We love to socialize if guests want to join us for a glass of wine but we do provide privacy for guests who would like to do their own thing.
