Such a beautiful home with plenty of space. Kitchen has absolutely everything you will need for your stay. Super comfortable beds. Extremely clean and fantastic location!! You simply cannot go wrong with this beautiful home!! Truly 5 Star!!
If I could give this 10 stars I would! The house is nestled into a quiet neighborhood and came with everything my family needed for a long weekend in Long Beach. The house is an 8-10 minute walk from the beach down a private path, house was very clean and fresh upon arrival and the owners were an absolute delight to work with. After a long day of playing on the beach and razor clamming, we got to enjoy the fire pits & bbq. I highly recommend this home and will definitely be coming back!
Best stocked VRBO we’ve ever stayed in! Nice & clean & even though it’s pet friendly, there is NO smell of pets and No animal hair anywhere! Great for our allergy-prone family.Would 100% stay here again and recommend to friends & family.

Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
The host was great and very accessible. The house needs some basic maintenance and a deep clean and definitely pet beds etc. left there need to be cleaned or have renters bring their own - too much other dog smells! Also, not obvious at all from the photos provided that this house is quite a walk to the beach and in a mixed neighborhood with some unsightly neighbors.

Thank you for the important feedback on the dog beds. We will immediately refresh those so our furry guests are comfy too! I really appreciate your input. Cleanliness is super important to us.
All rentals have variables to consider. Many of our guests like being on our half acre, the western view of our wildflower meadow, our single level home so they don’t have to climb stairs, location on the west side of the Pacific Way so they can walk to the beach without crossing the busy road, and distance from other homes. It is completely okay that other folks prefer the city and its bustle.
Thank you so much and we will take care of the dog beds right away. You are welcome back any time if you wish, and your feedback is valuable. 😊
I loved the trail to the beach! This is one of my favorite things to do with my dog! We also got to experience the Kite Festival! The beach house was roomy and we had all that we needed. A great place to stay!
Nice place. Big enough for family gatherings. Kitchen is the most stocked I have ever had. We just did not like that we could not take our dogs on the path to the beach. There are sticker plants that are not mentioned in the house description. It's the main reason we chose this house. Sure they offer cute dog boots in various sizes, but it does not work well with a dog who has never been trained to walk in them. We have big trucks and the drive was is super shallow so that was a challenge. Strong dog odor, so I bought some Pooph spray and moved the dog beds out to the game room. Outside firepit was an island due to flooding. Back grass not mowed so picking up dog poo was gross in tall grass. Won't stay again.

Your review is valuable and thank you letting us know ways to improve. ‘Hope you don’t mind if I reply. 😊
For fire-pits, there is always a place to sit by the fire and look at the stars at Long Beach Retreat. Guests have two options with a large Solo stove on the patio, and steel ring fire-pit in the western field. During winter rainy season, periodically the field does pond depending on precipitation levels.
There are some prickers the first 50’ of the path to the dunes. Dogs paws to be double checked after that entrance as is mentioned in the guest welcome document. Prickers are throughout Long Beach, and we work to control them.
The back patio’s grassy area is 8’x 12’ with complementary mitt mutt poop bags provided. I was there after you and saw the grass was 6” high, definitely too high. While picking up your dogs’ poop, I thought there must be a concern because guests rarely leave dog waste. We will be sure to have manager keep a closer eye on the grass.
Thank you for letting us know and your feedback is valuable.
Our family came down for the weekend and this place provided just what we needed. It was quiet, close to downtown Long Beach and was the perfect spot for rest and relaxation. We’d love to stay here again in the future.
We had a great experience at this property. It was super clean and the owners were very thoughtful with amenities. The photos from the listing were accurate and the owners were incredibly friendly. We would love to come back.
Beautiful quiet road close to the beach and we love the fence yard for our two dogs

About the host
Hosted by Peter Stone
We are a family of five who love the outdoors. Our dog is a beloved furry family member so we wish to make our place pet friendly for others as well. We enjoy nature and activities such as walking, rowing, skiing, golfing, fishing, clamming, cooking. Having a peaceful retreat in Long Beach is a 20 year dream and we are thrilled to be able to share with others.
Why they chose this property
Our retreat has the best of all worlds - secluded yet very close to town and all that is happening there. We love the private access we have to the Beach and how it is always uncrowded. We have great neighbors all around who are willing to lend a hand when needed.
What makes this property unique
The property has a great back patio that is next to a preserved area so no view of neighbors - or you can take the short walk to the beach for a stroll. We also essentially have three living areas - making it a great place for families or groups of friends. The primary living room is great for lounging while the second living room has two pull out beds and the TV area for watch movies or gaming. You can also listen to vinyl records on our sound system! And we have converted the garage to another place to hang out - it has many games and a foosball table for all to enjoy.
