The property was very quiet and peaceful. The cabin included everything needed for a short ‘off the grid’ weekend with our children, but still close enough to entertainment opportunities to take day trips.
It is like its described, a rustic cabin. We love camping, so it was nice not pitching a tent and sleeping on a comfortable bed. They had some basic utensils, battery operated candles, and cooking supplies as well. The dogs loved running around and swimming in the lake. We caught a few sunfish from the dock. It was super cool the first night we spent there was a wolf pack howling in the distance and owls hooting. The stars were beautiful.
The cabin was as described! Beautiful, remote property. There were some bugs and lots if lilly pads in the bay. The owners were amazing and very helpful! Highly recommended!!!
I loved the property! It's Northern MN so expect skeeters and flies if you come in summer like I did. Owner was super responsive, the cabin was well laid out, and the grounds were peaceful and private.
We took a trip to this location late May and the property was beautiful and my kids got to go WILD!!!! My only complaint is that with all the rain there were a lot of mosquitoes. This was a perfect trip since we were balling on a budget!! There was a lot more to do then expected!!
The cabin is as described - although it is a dry cabin, it offered a lot of little amenities that make it a lot nicer. Yes, the bugs are bad - but you have to expect that in Northern MN. The outhouse was a little overwhelming depending on the time of day - not sure if it’s venting as it should, but that was the only thing that was a disappointment. We had a severe thunderstorm roll in over night, and we were certainly happy to be in a cabin.
It's a nice piece of land with a rustic cozy cabin and very secluded. The charms of it outweigh the small cons of the place. What better destination can you ask for than the north woods of Minnesota? Would recommend to anyone who doesn't need the convinces of glamping but want something better than a tent. Pros- Seclusion of the property, Water access to the lake, the charms of a rustic cabin, the scenery and land size. Very relaxing and the beds were comfy and clean.Cons- Some of the solar lights need attention, above sink light wouldn't turn on until it was dark, outhouse light didn't work, and it leans forward, had a smell of dead animal that would come and go, hard to get into the loft unless your child size, front cabin door wouldn't latch upon arrival. We used our cooler to keep it shut. Provided trash can for outside is on the small side.Recommendations I would definitely bring citronella candles or torches with you as the north woods have a lot of mosquitoes. Bring weedless lures. Fishing from the dock has a lot of weeds and lily pads. We used the public water access for fishing. We used the showers at a campground nearby. Overall though its a great place that we would rent again and recommend to others for sure.
