Le Vieux Moulin is a large restored 18th century Provencal house overlooking the medieval village of Seillans (listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France with its restaurants, shops and cobbled pedestrian streets). A short walk down the back lane takes you there.
A swimming pool with a magnificent view of mountains and village sits on the opposite side of the large olive tree grove. Vestiges of the original Vieux Moulin (old olive mill) greet you on the driveway leading up to the house. The stream which powered the mill burbles along at the bottom of our adjacent field.
The house has a large outside terrace, tiled in travertine marble and shaded by wisteria, ideal for balmy outdoor dining and a wonderful view of the village and the Esterel mountains. Outside tables and chairs can seat 8 people.
The house reflects the spirit of the artist who originally restored it: floors tiled in travertine or traditional Provincial terracotta, handpainted Spanish tiling in the bathroom and kitchen, artworks and antiques both inside and out.
The setting is extremely peaceful and comfortable and a short drive takes you to the markets of nearby villages (Fayence, Bargemon, Mons), the museums of Vence and Antibes or the glamour and excitement of La Cote d'Azur (45 minutes to Cannes, an hour to St. Tropez or Nice).
The house has three upstairs bedrooms and a full bathroom (with tub/shower, toilet and bidet) plus a bonus living room (or bedroom) upstairs which opens to fields outside. There is an additional toilet downstairs with an antique sink carved from a single piece of stone. The three bedrooms have queen size beds and one of the rooms has a dividing wall, creating an additional single bedroom. Each bedroom has a desk and wonderful views.
The kitchen was fully renovated in 2011 with a new double sink, dishwasher, gas range, electric oven and ample prep space. An in-kitchen table seats four and a separate dining room seats eight comfortably. The easily accessible outdoor veranda has a fabulous view of the 12th century village of Seillans.
The living room has a television, DVD player, house library and CD sound system. There is is a couch, two large armchairs & ottomans for lounging, along with a small desk.
The separate dining room can also be used as a study -- it has an additional large antique table by the window and a printer/office supplies in an adjoining cupboard.

Why they chose this property
La Maison du Vieux Moulin has been in our family for the past sixty years - very well loved by 3 generations during all seasons.
What makes this property unique
One of our favorite features of La Maison du Vieux Moulin is its proximity to the beautiful old village of Seillans. We love the short morning walk into the village for coffee & croissants; we love the evening walk under the vibrant starry sky to enjoy an exceptional dinner at one of Seillans' excellent restaurants or concerts or fêtes.
Our personal favorite activity there is harvesting the olives in the winter - we hope some bottles of our wonderful oil will be there to welcome you.
