Unclean home and rude host

The property is good if you are looking for a “glamping” sort of stay. It’s deep in the mountains, 45 minute drive up from the main roads/stores. Upon entering the drive way is a hazardous rock which caused us a flat tire, and several others as we were told by the care takers. The inside of the house is very out dated. There is a lingering mildew smell in the air, and when you open the kitchen drawers and cabinets the smell is very heavy and you can actually see the fungus growing inside of the pots and pans. The mildew smell is also embedded in the pillows and mattresses, even after I washed the sheets and pillow cases it was still underneath. Not good for anyone with allergies. The showers had clumps of hair around the drains and cobwebs and dirt in the corners. The water doesn’t come out very much, and there is no hot water for showering. There are several shrines around the house with photographs (of I assume deceased people) with candles, statues and rosaries, kind of eerie and personal, I feel should be kept out of a vacation rental. The host is extremely rude and defensive and offers zero compassion or compensation, even though we left as soon as we were able to, due to the flat tire. We honestly wouldn’t have even spent the night there if we were able to drive away upon arrival. The whole thing was a nightmare. Other than all of that, the view is beautiful.

This is absolutely a farce and if I were rude I would paste here the text messages and voice memos with this renter who lied about the condition of the house to get away from a rental that her husband disliked due to the distance and wilderness surroundings which are clearly stated in the ad. Cristina was introduced to the loving and kind local caretakers days prior to their arrival for any questions and additional services. When they arrived with a flat tire our caretakers quickly volunteered to help out investing much time and good will . When they left and crashed their car on the side of the road there were again our caretakers helping with no remuneration but only good will . I was constantly in communications with Cristina and spoke with her husband when he raised unfounded complaints about mold. The truth is these renters are entitled tourists with no respect nor appreciation for the natural beauty of a home in a cloud forest . I have never encountered such attitude riddled with systemic lies .
