Surrounded by mature fruit trees, mango, papaya, passionfruit, genip, soursop, guavaberry, breadfruit, avocado, banana and an organic greenhouse on property growing microgreens, herbs, vegetables, orchids and more. Lush, tropical, high above Magens Bay, you will find a quiet, cool and very safe oasis among the trees. Newly renovated artistic studio with blue bottles in the walls and a serene comfortable beauty inside. Get lulled to sleep with a symphony of coqui frogs. Lovely both inside and outside. We are hooked up to our local electric grid, but have a fully array of solar power and a tesla powerwall battery as well as a big generator which runs everything. We are one of the few places in the VI where you should not experience a power outage. Take the stone steps up through lush plantings or walk a trail which circles through the property from your parking space to the studio. Located on the end of a private circular road with easy access to anywhere on the island. 6 minutes to Hull Bay. 10 minutes to Magens Bay. 7 minutes to historic Charlotte Amalie. 3 minutes to Sibs on the Mountain Restaurant and Bar or Mountaintop. Excellent location for one person. You will need a sturdy car or jeep to get around. Owners on property are long time island residents and can answer all your questions. Lots of large flowering heliconias, bird of paradise, anthuriums, ginger and much more. It it a living masterpiece in nature.

Wonderful stay. Has everything you would need for a pleasant experience. Very clean and well appointed studio set High up in the mountains in a jungle environment. Very peaceful. Hosts were attentive, but not intrusive and very nice.

If you read the directions and description, then nothing will come as a surprise to you and this will be a smooth stay. As stated, you do need a rental car with high clearance in order to access the property. It is the perfect size for one person with all essential amenities provide provided. The property is located at the top of two flights of steps, so be prepared to climb and make sure you are able to hoist your luggage up the steps.The host is extremely responsive and will provide directions as needed and meet you to give you a tour, just make sure you communicate your expected arrival time. I recommend bringing earplugs if you need absolute silence to sleep. You will hear forest sounds at night, especially if it rained.It can also tend to be a bit humid in the room during the rainy season. The fan does keep the room, cool, but bring like pajamas in case you run hot. The view is amazing and the sunrise is perfect. All in all I had a great stay and highly re commend this location.

Perfectly quaint, well kept studio. Up in the mountains, enjoy cool carribean nights away from the hustle and bustle. Magen's bay to your north, Charlotte Amelia to your south. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and informative.

This is an amazing property and Sherrie is a gracious host. Positioned up high on Mountain Top, the studio is on the ground floor of a larger solidly-built concrete house. Tastefully remodeled in 2023, it has a casually elegant decor themed with the crystal teal sea that surrounds St. Thomas. The front door opens onto a paver patio that gently transitions to a lush hillside garden with a large mango tree, banana trees, giant 10-15ft tall "lobster claw" heliconia. Friendly anole perch on the rocks and tree trunks while coqui serenade you to sleep at night. The studio has everything one traveler may need for a stay including kitchen, twin day bed, linens, spacious closet, unique writing desk with in situ natural boulder, and private 3/4 bath. The location up on Mountain Top provides cool dry air and breathtaking views of Charlotte Amalie and the small islands off the south side of it. Magens Beach and Hull Beach are a short drive away. The host provides a comprehensive local guide book with all her favorite spots for swimming, snorkeling, dining, and shopping. The house does not have a GPS-able address and so it is important to follow the host's directions and set your GPS for either Fairchild Ln or the very nearby Fairchild Park (which is kind of defunct but still there). I found Sib's, Mafolie, and Moe's Northside to be the closest food options. DO NOT TAXI. Your best bet is to rent a small or mid-sized high clearance car. A Jeep Wrangler was perfect and priced right for me

Hidden away!!

I had a great time...the place was cute , right down to the rock desk ...Do be aware that there are 32 steps to the room....i am 72 with bad feet....with there help we made it work for a week....enjoy your stay....

I will edit the description to definitely include that there are both steps and a nature trail to access the studio, and our road also does better with a car with a bit more clearance such as a jeep or small suv. The studio was clean, bed was a bit short with me being 5'8". No one was working on it while I stayed there, but scaffolding at the front door of the unit took me by surprise, but I was already there so... also, was hoping to walk to the beach since it was written "7 minutes to the beach". It ended up with 15-20 minutes curvy drive down the steep hills. Definitely not walking distance lol. I am glad that I listed to the hosts and rented a 4 wheel drive all terrain jeep. Some of the roads were missing pavement so it was an adventure and thinnking that it's good that it wasn't my personal jeep that was getting that beating. Hosts are going to get more curtains for next time. During the day it is very quite, almost nothing, but at night every single bird wakes up and reports for duty. After 2-3 night it was just background noise somehow. There is no A/C and with windows open it's ok. No oceanview from my patio, rather obstructed by a tree with lot's of leaves, btw very lush green area.My only disappointment there was the beach proximity which I feel was not communicated correctly when I was booking, other than that I had an awesome 9 day adventure and met a lot of cool people along the way.

I'm sorry that our studio seemed different to you than what I have written. When it says we are located "high above Magens Bay" and "7 minutes to town or beach" and that "you will need a sturdy car or jeep with good clearance to get around", I just don't know how I could be more clear. I also state that "You will be lulled to sleep by a symphony of frogs", The birds do not wake up at night, but the frogs are very vocal especially when it rains alot, as it did when you were here. I was sailing in the British Virgin Islands when you stayed with us, but when you called and texted that you needed a brillo pad immediately I called my partner and he brought one to you. You told him you needed the blue bottle side windows covered, which they also immediately did for you. I also notified you before your visit that we had scaffolding up near the studio for a new roof, gutters and paint, but we would not be working there while you were in residence, so I'm sorry if those were also a surprise to you. Also at this height on the north side of Peter Mountain, we have never felt the need for an air conditioner. We do not list one in our amenities If anything, it is usually quite chilly up here in the hills. There is a ceiling fan and an extra one if needed in the closet. I apologize that your stay was not what you hoped it would be. We try hard to make this a 5 star accomodation for a solo traveler, and we are always trying to make it better and a beautiful and unique lush, green experience for special people. Sherrie
