The Victorian Charmer is a beautifully restored Victorian home located in the heart of Montpelier, Idaho. The house is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and entertainment, and is just a 20-minute drive from Bear Lake, The Caribbean of the Rockies

Spring Break Weekend

It was fine for the most part. I don't mean for this to be posted as a review, but here are a few recommendations. Supply a roll of paper towels, it was good I brought my own napkins. Also, the kitchen sink disposal doesn't work. We found an old kitchen wash rag stuck in it. It was obvious that it had been there for a long time. The toilet on the main floor needs some attention. About every 3-4 flushes, you need to fix the chain. The downstairs was difficult to heat up, so we used the couches upstairs. Those couches are extremely uncomfortable with springs in all the wrong places. The bed was comfortable, and we managed to do what we needed to do for the length of our stay, but I would not stay again.

Spacious base camp for day tripping

The house has an interesting combination of interior decoration styles, from modern to 70's to almost Adams Family (red dining room). Lots of rooms and most bedrooms have more than 2 beds so everyone can have their space. Kitchen even has a pizza oven. We didn't use the big backyard but it does border on a property that has chickens, a rooster that you will hear as well as turkeys and barking dogs. Throw in the occasional freight train and you either need ear plugs or sedatives to sleep late. Good value for the amenities and proximity to Bear Lake.
