About this property

Welcome to rest and relaxation with family and friends at this peaceful setting on 8 acres with two ponds! This takes glamping to a whole new level! This is the ideal location to enjoy the Finger Lakes Region as it is just minutes from Watkins Glen International, waterfalls, wineries, breweries, Corning Museum of Glass, fishing charters, etc. Newly updated rustic retreat has four bedrooms, an open floor plan upstairs, a second living room with extra futons, workspace, equipped kitchen, charcoal grill and pellet smoker. The wrap around porch is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee/tea and take in the beautiful Mountain views and unbelievable sunrises. For the cooler days/evenings there are a few heated blankets and a propane fire pit on the back deck. There is also a lawn fire pit and wood for traditional campfires with plenty of chairs. The clear sky and stars at night won't disappoint!

This is a quiet property that has plenty of Space for parking and exploring. There are two ponds - small one at the top of the property and the other much larger and the center of many photographic moments. No fishing in large pond please as the pond is stocked to keep it clear and serene. If anyone would like to fish you can do so in the small pond at the top of the property where there are koi fish and painted turtles. There is fish food in the lower living room of you would like to feed the fish. A double seater Kayak and life jackets are available for use. No lifeguard on duty. The house has 4 bedrooms (2 on the main floor; 2 on the lower level), 2 Living rooms (lower level one has 2 large futons), full kitchen and 2 full baths (1 on each floor). Outdoor glamping bedroom/hangout area with a queen bed available seasonally April 30-November 15th, weather permitting.

Super Highspeed Wi-Fi and house phone for guests to use, or just completely unplug and hike around the property! There is an outdoor glamping bedroom for use from April 30th-November 15th, weather permitting....it is beautiful and a great place to take in the stars or views, but keep in mind it is a shed, so outdoor camping type elements apply despite put hardest efforts and preventative measures.

The property operates off of a well but has a full house water filtration system. New whole house A/C and heating Lenox units added in 2023. Can comfortably accommodate 9 adults and 5-6 kids or 12-13 adults.

Lovely Spot for a Peaceful Weekend Away

We chose Camp AWOL for a girls weekend. The location was perfect. Being 15 min to either Corning and Watkin's Glen there was easy access to hiking, stores, wineries, and restaurants. In the house there was lots of space for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and ready for family style meals. The back porch made our trip! Sitting in the chairs with coffee watching the pond and the leaves turn was idyllic! Renters should know that it is very dark on the country roads and the camp could be challenging to find for the first time after dark. The owners provided excellent directions but our GPS was a little confused in this location. The owner also provided detailed information on using the house and on check-out procedures. Overall she was wonderful and quite accommodating of some last minute travel issues we experienced.

Great place near Watkins Glen

The property was exactly as advertised. Everything was very clean and new. Owners were so kind and responsive. Place has everything you could possibly need. The ponds were such a nice bonus. My 15 and 16 year old girls absolutely LOVED fishing every day. Caught a giant carp, catfish and crappies. The property was about 15 minutes from downtown Watkins Glen. There is an ice cream shop about 8 minutes away called Winners Circle Ice Cream that was AMAZING! Overall an absolutely wonderful stay!

My husband and I have built the property we have always dreamed of taking our extended family for a peaceful glamping experience! This has been our vision for the past 12 year and we wanted to share with others! My husband is a proud veteran, served in the MPCA for the Army for 16 years (active duty and national guard), but also just recently retired from the NYS Police (K9 unit), so it was the perfect time to start this new venture! I work as an Army Civilian and am big on organization, customer service and cleanliness. We are focused on a well-maintained property and everyone having a positive experience. Our goal is to ensure good communication, a beautiful clean accommodation with all the comfort amenities of home.

Why they chose this property

We have always loved the Finger lakes region, but find the lakes can be very congested, expensive and have little parking. So, we wanted an area where space wasn't an issue, but it was still in an ideal location to enjoy all of the local attractions and activities.

What makes this property unique

There are breathtaking views all around. The property is peaceful with birds chirping, deer grazing and fish jumping in the ponds. Beyond that the stars are an unbelievable site at night while enjoying a real campfire or relaxing on one of the decks with your favorite beverage.
