About the host
Hosted by Donna Canestra
We’re an Australian American family with two teens and an Aussie Doodle. We sponsor two fun loving mids, and open our home for key USNA dates to help with the accommodation needs of visiting families or those attending USNA football games. When you stay in our home we stay aboard our boat, and it gives us the chance to really connect as a family.
Although we’ve only been hosts for a relatively short time we’ve met some truly wonderful people and USNA families, and are glad that we made this choice.

Why they chose this property
We purchased our home over 20 years ago, as a newly married couple in a new home in an established neighbourhood. We made some wonderful friends and had our first child in Annapolis.
Life took us abroad for 12 years. We kept our home, hoping to return to it at some point.
We did so five years ago, with two children in tow. Most of our friends from years before are still living in the neighbourhood, and we love that about it.
It’s so close and convenient to everything downtown and USNA, but also tranquil and private.
We hope you love it as much as we do.

What makes this property unique
Our home has a truly special backyard and patio area. I designed the patio and two young men built it and brought it to life about 18 years ago. It still looks wonderful and is a private space, surrounded by wildlife - our little suburban oasis. We enjoy daily visits from cardinals, finches, wrens, songbirds and hummingbirds from May to Oct/Nov. We had a box turtle deposit her eggs in our garden in June, and we’re now helping and hoping they make it through their gestation and we get to welcome baby turtles in a couple of months!
