We were looking for a place to relax after a couple of long hikes at burr oak. When you first step in front of the door, you smell mustiness. Its even more so when you open the door. We smelled the linens on the beds and picked the one that didnt smell as musty. Even bath towels had a musty odor. Couldnt find the fridge and host told us it was under the stove. Found it after figuring out how to open it. Its a dorm sized fridge, which would have been fine, but it was half a block of solid ice inside. Literally. Tv did not work. We tried everything. Power switch, remote, cable box. Wouldn’t work. No wifi. Asked about the wifi and host said sometimes they connect to the wards wifi. Who are the wards? And we really have to connect to a neighbors wifi? Advertised there was a grill. No grill. Fire ring does exist quite a ways from deck but thats it. A ring on a hill. No where to sit and enjoy a fire and a guy just finished mowing as we were unpacking and the grass was wet, so theres that. Note left that says house rules. 😂 we had to put used towels in one spot. Bed linens are to be stripped from bed. Trash taken out. Are you kidding me?I should’ve got paid for dusting. Had to use stools as tables for food we brought there was alot of dust on the stools. The patio furniture is filthy with dirt, rust and bugs. Box on back deck and there was cushions for seats out back. Along with a nest of wasps. About 2 dozen of them. Paid for 2 nights left after 1 have pics to verify

If I could give zero stars on this property, I would. The space was dirty/unsanitary, from the kitchen to the bathroom to the living areas. No amount of cleaning from the host could have fixed it. On top of that, we brought food to cook on the grill, that was listed. No grill (nor was there an oven), and we could not use the fire pit because there was a burn ban in the county. The host blamed me for not checking local conditions regarding burning prior to arriving. Do not book and stay here.
