About this property

Poolside Retreat, Peachland our mini resort

The Poolside Suite, which is on the lower floor of the main house, where we live, is very spacious and has its own private entrance, patio, and secluded terrace leading to the pool area. In the summer, chill out by the pool, and in the winter, cozy up by our gas fireplace and watch a movie or play one of our board games.

Together with our seasonally heated saltwater pool, we have a lawned area with a badminton/volleyball net, and other outside games, both shared with the Carriage House, also listed on this site. As an added bonus, we also have a pool table available for adults with no accompanying children.

We are located adjacent to farmland, which makes it a great area if you enjoy strolls in the countryside, yet we are only a minute's drive to the beach and downtown Peachland.

There is a barbecue on your private patio, and pictures of all can be viewed under photos. I adore gardening, so there is an abundance of hanging baskets and climbing plants on the terrace to be enjoyed, including grapevines.

The price is based on number of guests. The suite has one queen bedroom, day bed for 2nd guest situated in a separate room and 2nd bedroom has two twin beds available to 3rd and 4th. Should the second guest wish to use the second bedroom then we do charge extra, but with our day bed in a separate room, it should not be necessary.

The kitchen features a microwave, top-of-the-range Air Fryer, two-plate hob, breakfast bar, under-counter fridge and chest freezer, crockery, coffee maker, and kettle, allowing you to enjoy preparing a meal while keeping an eye on your little ones, watching TV, or socializing with your accompanying guests.

We welcome children of all ages, however, for longer stays, for large families or those with several very young children we recommend our 2-bedroomed Carriage Houser also advertised on this site, which
has a full kitchen, dishwasher, washer-dryer, and private gardens.

For the security of all our guests, we only allow registered guests onto the property so rest assured there will always be a spot for you by the pool.

We had a lovely stay at Poolside Suite and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The suite was very comfortable and the kids loved the pool. It is a great area to stay within to enjoy the Okanagan Valley and we would recommend the suite.

Winter paradise

We stayed here while in town for a funeral. The host was amazing and the Poolside Suite was an amazing accommodation. Everything we needed was at hand. Would love to come back in the summer!

Really nice place, clean, everything you would need is available. The pool is great, perfect to keep kids entertained, there are lots of toys and games on the property too. Hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome. They even left us a gift basket with some toys/baby essentials for our daughter which was very thoughtful

Truly an escape from the ordinary everyday…

My travelling partner and I had a wonderful time at this property! From the welcome snack and sparkling beverage, to the spacious suite, to the pool table, to the incredible outdoor pool, it was an oasis of peace that we were both looking for! A Little Slice of Heaven!

We spent a wonderful week in the Carriage House! We enjoyed the spacious accommodations that included everything we needed. Absolutely loved having the beautiful pool so close and all to ourselves, we swam in it everyday! The location of this rental property is perfect, close to both Kelowna and Penticton and there were lots of fun things to do in Peachland as well. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all of our friends!

Arrived to find juice and croissants. Sleeps 5 quite comfortably. Nice pool with lounge chairs and towels provided. Shower head did not pull down. No bath tub but there is the pool. Lovely outdoor area with BbQ and table with a beautiful bench swing. Nice bedding. Big TV.

Great accomodation for families with small kids

We, a family of four ( kids 3 and 4 yrs old) had a great time at the poolside retreat. The cottage is very family friendly equipped w/ booster seat, pack n play, kids room w toys and books, outdoor badminton net and obviously the pool. If you are going, make sure to buy some homemade jam from Casper's Corner next door. Many thanks to Gill and Ray for their great hospitality. We hope to be back soon :)

Simply Amazing

My family had such an amazing time at this lovely place. The suite is very cozy, clean and had everything we needed for our stay and more. The swimming pool was the highlight in this lovely home. After a tiring day roaming around Peachland and Kelowna we would finish up our day with a swim at the pool. Anyway Gill was an awesome host have us so much privacy and when we needed battery for the tv remote and extra towels it was instantly delivered at our doorstep. Very nice indeed and we would love to comeback again.

Fantastic Stay

4 of us stayed for 2 nights at the end of a two week road trip. My grandson summed up our stay by saying: "I wish we had spent our whole vacation here." Gillian met us as we arrived and seemed genuinely happy to see us. The pictures, while accurate, do not do the place justice. Little knick-knacks and decorations abound, the beds and furniture are very comfortable and we had all the space we could desire. The kitchen was well stocked with more than enough flatware, cutlery, coffee, tea and spices. The pool area was perfect for a lazy afternoon in the sun. The only potential downside is that it is at the top of a hill and you will need to drive to the waterfront and downtown area. My only regret is that we could not stay longer and I can only give it 5 stars.

Another Paradise Getaway in Poolside Retreat.

We just returned from a week stay at Poolside Retreat. This was our 3rd visit and fist stay at Carriage House. This is a little paradise surrounded by green hills and just a minutes of drive from the Peachland's beach avenue. The place has everything you need and beautiful surroundings. The accomodations is 5 star, great pool, the only place I feel like home. Cleanest bed sheets, towels, kitchen utencils. Lot's of space and beatiful gardens. We traveled with 2 years old toddler and she loves the place. Everytime we go the owner brings in bunch of toys for her to play, which is great and I don't need to bring over her toys with me from home. It is a paradise getaway no matter ou travel with kids or alone.Highly recommend and will retun next summer again hopefully!

Pool side retreat underpromises and overdelivers

My sister and I stayed at Gillian's pool-side retreat during Ironman Canada 2011. I somewhat assumed that since it was still available relatively close to the Ironman dates that it would be over-priced and disappionting for the price. Was I surprised! The photos on vrbo.com do not do this unit justice! It is very, very spacious (much more so than the pictures show) and bright and comfortable. And the pool area is so beautifully landscaped, finished, and serene that we had to stay an additional day just to have the chance to enjoy the pool. We will absolutely be returning to either of Gillian's units again. Thanks for everything!

Wine Tour Home Base

We did our own wine tour and used this property as our home base. Was very nice to come home each day to a quiet relaxing spot. The pool was great to cool off in and then suntan in the deck loungers around the pool. We would recommend this property.

Basement suite on a beautiful property

Gil makes every effort to welcome you and make your stay comfortable. We were surprised that the poolside suite was actually in the basement of the owner's home (other options on this property are separate). This created difficulties as the noise (which was definitely not excessive) was disturbing to the very light sleepers in our family. The owner was responsive to suggestions that this be clarified in the advertisement of the unit, as she wants everyone to be happy with their stay. Kitchen facilities are very limited (hot plate, mini fridge) and there are many rules about use of things within the suite. No amenities included (i.e., shampoo, soap, etc) which is uncommon to similarly priced properties we stayed at during our trip. Beautiful pool and outdoor area.

We have three adult children and emigrated to Canada in 2008, after falling in love with Peachland. In the 2 years we have been here we have made many friends and have embraced the Okanagan laid back and outdoor lifestyle. We enjoy meeting people, hiking, fishing, swimming and skiing. In fact our youngest son was in the British Ski Team for many years. Our favorite pastimes is joining our friends for a drink in a cafe along Beach Avenue and watching the world go by. Bliss!

Why they chose this property

One of the many reasons we chose to buy in the the Okanagan Valley is the climate, It is located at the northern most end of the Sonora Desert and hence has a semi-arid climate, boasting long warm summers and relative mild winters compared to elsewhere in Canada. It is also in an ideal location being in the heart of the Okanagan making it easy to take advantage of everything it has to offer. We also loved the fact that we could be at a ski resort within 15mins in the winter and a major ski resort in just over an hour. We were very lucky to find a beautiful house on a flat acre of land, with a suite and also with a legal Carriage Houses and knew it would make ideal holiday accommodation. We really do enjoy sharing our great facilities with our guests and are greatly rewarded when we see our guests enjoying the pool and other amenities.

What makes this property unique

We were attracted to this property as it was the only we one we saw where we could offer
A pool that enjoys a full day of the sun which is shared by a limited amount of guests thereby find they have it to themselves a lot of the time.
Private patios with no immediate neighbors and private paths to the pool area.
Outside Games area with badminton net set up and other outside toys provided.
In fact, as much as is offered in a five-star hotel, but more privacy at half the cost!!
In the winter we have a cozy gas fire plus a pool table to enjoy (for parties that are all adults)
No Highway noise in a quiet flat area yet close to downtown Peachland
