About this property

Lakefront Haven mountain lake house w/dock, kayaks, SUPs, fish & stunning views!

Lake Chatuge beauty w/private dock, gorgeous mountain views and great fishing! 21-mile view to Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA) on wraparound screen porch. 3B/3BA w/ 2 levels of entertaining space, wet bar, 2 wine frigs, fire pit & pool table. HIGH SPEED INTERNET for streaming or work! Gas fireplace in living room w/SMART TV. Two lux adjustable king bedrooms on the main floor each with smart TV and desk. Swim/boat/fish on Lake Chatuge, then BBQ and watch the sunset by the firepit. Compare s'mores recipes. 2 kayaks & 2 stand up paddleboards for year-round fun!

There’s grass under this area of the lake, so it’s great for fishing because they like to hide in there (striped bass.) Lots of fishermen frequent in this cove when it is tournament time. When the lake is low (colder months), it’s still pretty, all nice and green and the dock is on a tributary that feeds right into the lake, so there is some moving water year round. From fish to geese and deer, rain and snow there is always something to see. We are literally nestled in the mountains.

From April - September bring your boat! From October-April the lake is too low for boat at ramp, however we have a long driveway and we are right around the corner from double boat ramps at Ledford Chapel, ramps at Jackrabbit Mountain Recreation Area, and Chatuge Dam so there are many easy nearby lake entry points. Kayaks and SUPs are included with the house and they are great year round! We have life jackets in a variety of sizes. We also have some fishing gear so you can try to get some of those striped bass.

We send you a personal code so you can check in on your own. We leave you alone to enjoy and make those memories. We’re always available by phone, text or messaging.

We love the #lakelife around here as well as the majestic mountains. The north side of the lake has stunning long range mountain views. This home is convenient to many things yet surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest and the Tusquittee valley. So much to do and see right in town. Downtown Hayesville is simply charming with walkability to several shops and dining establishments, take a yoga class, sample wines at Laughing Waters, try a new microbrew at Nocturnal, have a five star meal at the Copper Door, shop at Tiger's general store or get ice cream at Chinquapins. Pick up tickets at a show at the Peacock. Hiawassee, Ga. and Murphy, NC are both right around the corner and there are free concerts at the John C. Campbell Folk School in the summers. We have a handy Welcome Guidebook in the house full of dining options, things to do, shopping, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking and waterfall trails... Wineries with live music events and tastings. Fantastic spa close by. And a short 25 min drive to Helen for tubing or zip lining, wine and craft brew tastings, local stables, or Murphy, NC for the Harrah's casino.

If you don't have a boat, there are several excellent boat rental places in the area! We use Lake Chatuge Marine, Young Harris Water Sports, Boundary Waters... They will set you up! They have all kinds of water toys too like jet skis - park the boat at our private dock during your stay when the lake is up (May - September.)

Hike or drive to the apex of Bell Mountain, which overlooks the lake below and provides picturesque mountain views. Go out the main road to the right and you will find the Shooting Creek Overlook which is breathtaking. Visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Jackrabbit Mountain, Chatuge Dam, Clay County park and beach, Trailheads of the Appalachian Trail, which spans from Georgia to Maine, are less than 10 miles from this home.

You get to enjoy the whole property.

Upstairs has a master king size adjustable twin/twin bed so each side can be set to your personal preference. The master has an ensuite bathroom with standing shower. The second upstairs bedroom is an adjustable King Serta. Second upstairs bath has a luxurious deep soaking tub. Downstairs has 3rd bedroom with 5 twins and a double bed - a twin over twin bunk with trundle, a daybed and a stand alone twin, next to the 3rd bathroom. Washer and dryer are in the garage.

Well equipped kitchen with Keurig and drip combo coffee maker, and all cooking essentials including air fryer, InstaPot, toaster and blender. Two charcoal grills are located in the backyard fenced in area, out the garage door to the backyard on left, and we have serving platters to accommodate a nice Thanksgiving meal or family BBQ.

Serenity
Had a great time at the house, perfect for our visit from CA with local family. The house had everything we needed, it was cozy, yet big enough for all of us. Mornings and evenings were wonderful on the balcony and the pool table was perfect for times we had rain. I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed our Thanksgiving Week with Beautiful Mountains and Water Views!
Overall worked perfectly for our stay. Since it was off season we did not have the pleasure of enjoying the lake but we came for relaxation so it worked out well. We saw deer out by the water a few times during our stay. Located in a quiet area. Dollar General is literally in both directions and Ingles is right down the road. Easy trip into GA as well. Kitchen could use more lighting and upstairs guest bath only has a tub. Neither of those things would prevent me from staying here again. Great communication with owners. Our faves: Rib Country, Underground Coffee (Hayesville); (Young Harris) Mary's Southern Grill and Heavenly Bake Shop; (Hiawassee) Sundance Grill
Stayed 5 nights in Nov 2023
