Welcome to our NEW RETREAT - The Historic Busiel House in the Heart of Laconia - nestled between beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Winnisquam. Located in downtown Laconia, you will be close to everything the Lakes Region has to offer.
Take a walk down the block to some great local restaurants, the Colonial Theatre and antique shops. Other local attractions include: Opechee Park, The Laconia Library, Scenic Rail Bike Rides, WOW Trail, and so much more! Go for a short drive and explore Weirs Beach, Tiki Hut Boats of NH, Lakeport Opera House, Gunstock Mountain or watch a great show at the The Bank of NH Pavilion, all just minutes away. There's something fun for everyone at The Downtown Hagan House!
We are honored to offer it as a venue for large gatherings, events, and an awesome vacation home. The 5,200+ square feet, fully air conditioned home boasts a large floor plan, nine bedrooms, and over five bathrooms - all restored to their former beauty with a modern twist. This home is incredible, and you will be happy to have your event, gathering or vacation in this historical home built in 1865.
The Main Floor includes a large mudroom, a kitchen with a breakfast table, a formal dining room, a laundry room with a washer and dryer, a ballroom style living room with a television, a family sitting room, a sunporch with great seating for enjoying the sunshine, and a half bathroom.
There are two stairways leading up to the Second Floor, which features six bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen-size beds and a jack-and-jill bathroom between them. There is an additional full bathroom located in the hallway, and two more bedrooms, with queen-size beds and en-suites. One bedroom has a walk-through taking you into another bedroom, each bedroom having one twin bed and a full bathroom.
The Third Floor features three bedrooms, all with queen beds, and one full bathroom.
Outside, you will find a lovely grassy area to enjoy, as well as a patio and grilling area. There is parking available for the home, as well as public parking in the rear.
This property is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The building was built in 1865, making it over 150 years old. Arthur L. Davis, a 19th-century architect, built the home for textile factory owner John W. Busiel, and then in the early 20th century it became a Catholic church owned building. In 1994, the downtown property became a historic national building.
