A comfortable home with basic amenities with lovely views of the back bay with the wildlife and the morning fog along with the view of the sunsets of the bay. We enjoyed our stay there very much.
My husband, my dog, and I had a great time in this cottage. We were greeted by a sand crane in the backyard on the bay; blue heron at dusk. Outdoor shower, full kitchen, plenty of sleeping space, A/C, washer/ dryer. Two minutes from everything, yet we were nestled in our own little corner of the world. Bob was very accommodating. Highly recommend!
Our family stayed here for a week for our first cape experience. It gave us easy access to all kinds of activities while also providing quiet refuge, security and privacy. We enjoyed the unique art and decor and all the kitchen essentials for cooking away from home. We sat outside , built a couple fires and used the grill overlooking the cove. The beds had newer sheets and blankets and all the furniture was comfortable. We would stay there again in a snap!
Lovely location, peaceful and relaxing, short distance to other cape towns. House is cozy and comfortable. Not fancy, but great for family with dog.
Suggestions: frying/sauté pan and a hammock in the yard would be perfection. 😎
The cottage is a charming space in a peaceful location. We thoroughly enjoyed the yard and watching the tide enter and exit the cove.
Everything about the cottage more than met our needs. It's location less than a mile from the path along the canal provided us with lovely runs and bike rides each day. It also afforded us easy access to the many faces of Cape Cod as we visited towns and beaches throughout the Cape.
The house itself was tidy, comfortable and uncluttered - just right! We had no issues, but communicated with Bob around check-in and out and he was very prompt in responding.
We hated to leave and hope to go back again next year.
clean comfortable home. Three comfortable beds on main floor. The king bed is on lower level , which we did not use. Even though there is only one bath, my husband made use of the outdoor shower. There is a small beach a short walk away. You need a pass to park there, but looks like parking on road in the area. We went to Onset beach in Wareham. Short drive and parking, just get there early. We were glad to have air conditioning as it was pretty humid in August.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this adorable property! Our family of 5 (plus our dog) had plenty of space. We rented a kayak and had it delivered and the kids took turns taking it for fishing trips. There is a semi-private beach a short distance away that we visited several times , and our family also enjoyed fishing there.
The backyard is quaint, with a lovely view of the Bay, and equipt with an outdoor shower, a grill and a small firepit. The neighborhood is quiet and everyone we encountered was friendly.
Bob was readily available to assist us with any questions we had, and came to the house personally to help with a minor issue we had (the issue was so minor that it's not worth mentioning, but Bob's attentiveness IS worth commenting on).
There were plenty of extra linens, bath and beach towels, which we appreciated, as we had many visitors stop by.
I recommend you bring some board games, outdoor games (we brought Cornhole and had hours of fun) and some fishing poles. Bob's place had shelves of books to choose from if your just looking to kick back with a good read and relax.
There are so many great things to do in the area and we only wish we had more time to see it all! Highly recommend spending a day at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet and taking the drive to Provincetown.
Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and we made some great family memories! We would definitely stay at this property again!
Bob was very quick to respond to questions. The cottage was larger than expected with plenty of room for our party of 5 adults. Would have given 5 stars but the road to the cottage is unpaved and has many potholes also the bedroom in the basement (which is not advertised as an available bedroom because it can't be accessed from the main floor) was not as clean as the rest of the home. The location is close to highways, grocery store and many restaurants. It is at the entrance to the Cape. The cottage has basics and the neighborhood felt safe. Overall a positive experience and would stay here again.q

Beautiful location in Buzzards Bay!
We enjoyed our stay very much! Relatives drove from Ohio, and they loved it, too. The house was very well-equipped and big enough for 6 people. The location was good, very quiet, but easy to drive to Onset, the Cape, and the Cape Cod Canal. We took advantage of the beautiful beaches, the Canal Cruise, driving onto the Cape, and all of the excellent restaurants.
There was a very minor problem with the key to the downstairs bedroom, and the owner came immediately to fix the problem. That we really appreciated.
The weather was ideal, and the week flew by so quickly!!!

Lovely character cottage with fabulous views
We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay in this very charming characterful cottage. Firstly, the views from all windows are just stunning. We enjoyed sitting out in the private garden looking out onto the water. This very tranquil spot is home to all sorts of wildlife and extremely peaceful. Every morning we walked around the edge of our creek to swim in Buttermilk Bay and in the evenings enjoyed the sunsets on the other side. There is plenty to do in both good and bad weather. The beaches are lovely particularly Orleans and we really recommend lake swimming and cycling at Brewster. We loved Sandwich and found the JFK museum at Hyannis very interesting. We loved the interior of the cottage and really appreciated the wonderful china and accessories that make it truly a home from home! We have also developed a love of jazz music particularly Dave Burbeck and have bought the cd since returning to the UK so we can reminisce about our very memorable holiday. Thank you very much, we will be back!

The perfect family cottage!
My husband, sons, and I enjoyed a week at Bob's vacation house. The cottage is charming. We loved this Buttermilk Bay cove and had easy backyard access to SUP, kayak, swim, and fish to our hearts content. The neighborhood is peaceful and a short bike ride to public swings, a public beach, restaurants, and the canal path. We definitely will rent this house again!

Exceeded our expectations-- a true Cape Cod experience!!
We rented the cottage over the 4th of July week, bringing three generations of family together for a beautiful Cape Cod experience. We were thrilled with the lay-out of the cottage, including the fully equipped kitchen, the three bedrooms (plus an extra bedroom in the walk-out basement), and the comfortable living area. While the interior of the cottage was very clean and accommodating, we spent much of the time "outside" the cottage, relaxing in the yard, cooking out on the charcoal grill, kayaking in Buttermilk Bay, and biking on the Cape Cod Canal Bike path. This area of Onset is so quiet and relaxing, yet is a short drive to the renowned restaurants and shops of Cape Cod. Buttermilk Bay is a beautiful place to kayak or paddle-- and Nemasket Kayak Center will deliver and pick up boards right to the cottage. It was so helpful, as well, to have such positive and clear communications with Bob, the owner of the cottage. He answered all my questions prior to our visit in such a timely manner. Our family truly had the most wonderful stay!!

Love this little house, will stay again for sure
This is the third time we have rented this house. We come to Bourne every year for 1-2 weeks for a horse show and rent a house for anywhere from 2-8 people. This house is great for up to 3 moms with kids and is so convenient to the show grounds, 5 min drive. The little beach down the street is great and almost always empty. The backyard is perfect for grilling and making s'mores and our horse show dogs love the fact that they can run around safely since it is at the end of a point of land with no car traffic. Would love a second bathroom but you can't have everything. Thanks Bob for letting us stay again, we'll be back.

Perfect house in a perfect location
After a busy week in NYC, we drove up to Cape Cod for a more relaxed week, an area I'd wanted to visit for many years. The house is beautiful and in an amazing spot on the bay, very well maintained, very well equipped, very comfortable and perfect for our family of four with two teenagers. We ate at the house mostly but Mezza Luna Italian restaurant in Buzzards Bay is recommended - fantastic food and faultless service. The house is located in a perfect position at the start of the Cape, making Boston in the north and Provincetown at the end of the Cape both around an hour's drive away. We hired bikes and there is a lovely ride along the canal to a beautiful sandy beach. Lovely day spent on Martha's Vineyard although had we been more organised, we would have booked in advance and taken the car over so that we could have had more freedom to explore. It was the last weekend before school started so the return ferries had long since been fully booked. We had a great day though and it is quite easy to get around the island by bus or taxi. Falmouth is stunning, such a pretty town. We also visited the Drive-In Theatre at Wellfleet - a real treat for us Brits, we didn't even know what was showing until we parked up but we HAD to do it! We all loved our base here in Cape Cod and really hope that we will be able to come back again one day.
