These photos are fake or completely photoshopped. The place is a glorified sqaut. The ceiling in caving in in the shower, there’s no water pressure, nor cold water. VRBO is a scam

You get what you pay for. I don’t want to trash the place but pictures are not accurate. It is fine if you need a quick place to stay. We needed one cheap night for 9 people so we knew that we wouldn’t get upset if it wasn’t the best. Couple of complaints were towels were the lowest quality and very old we didnt use them, only one bathroom which is fine because it’s disclosed but the sink didn’t drain so we had to use kitchen sink to brush, which is horrible with nine people, bathroom is from the 70s functional but keep it in mind. Over all run down but serves a purpose if you just need a place to crash for a night. cleaning fee charged to us so I assume charged to previous people. But place wasn’t clean. Hairs on pillow cases, stove dirty etc. not a huge thing but that meant it wasn’t cleaned and owner is just keeping the cleaning fee. Absolutely no where to park so just keep that in mind. We parked 20 mins away and Uberd every time back and forth which got costly. So basically cheap place good for a night or two but expect a 1 star place. Good area we felt safe.
This is an older building, needs updates. Limited outlets. Two long staircases, hard on people who aren’t fit.Limited parking. We parked in loading zone and unloaded, then had someone go park in a garage and walk back. (Less than a mile away, 30-40 a night which is normal for the region.)Dormitory style apartment. Generous kitchen, but no living area. 5 double beds. Only one “bedroom.” The other four are in pairs in adjacent rooms with a curtain between. Works well for families or close friends. Beds ranged from firm to soft, generally comfortable. Bathroom: recent work, including new shower head. Ample water pressure and hot water.Cleanliness: The cleaners could have done better in the bathroom after the drywall work and the kitchen sink had used sponges. But there were no bugs or signs of rodents. I have terrible allergies and would have reacted to dust, mold, or pet dander. I was fine. Not perfectly neat but it was clean. Two issues: a few windows don’t close very well and the oven wasn’t working. Host has been alerted and neither of these caused any issue for us.Host: Geo messaged and called me when I had concerns and even sent me a video tour of the property. He texted us twice during our stay and had more towels delivered promptly when asked.Summary: if you are visiting NYC and need a safe place to sleep and shower this is a great option. Buses to and from Port Authority only a few blocks away. Nice neighborhood, and Geo was a great host. We enjoyed our stay!
