Only issue that annoyed me was the freezer & ice machine did not work & it was a bit of a drive to get ice for beverages. Great space to spread out & relax & enjoy down time after moving our duaghter into her dorm. Close enough to the school but secluded enough to enjoy nature

We were very pleased with the property and the support of the owners/manager. Everything was clean, it was a modern, comfortable place inside and out. The last mile is a well maintained gravel road. There are other homes in the area but not too close in to this property. One great amenity is the whole home generator which could have been needed as we encountered a bad thunderstorm our first night, and the power blinked. If we had lost power, the generator would have kicked on automatically. We had a minor appliance issue that was promptly addressed by the property manager. LOVED THIS PLACE and will likely return as it is near my alma mater which I visit several times a year.

Five Star Vacation
Our family loved everything about Rest on the Rocks.
The beautiful home has everything you need and more to have a wonderful vacation.
They have thought of everything!❤️
This wonderful suburban home (inside) looks like a mountain cabin outside. We cooked breakfast and dinner there and hiked the parks during the day. Very secluded and slightly off the beaten path but easily accessed. Nice pool table and game selections. Solid wifi. Kitchen needs some steak knives but if thats the only thing missing. Great rental!
We had a great stay at The Lodge. The layout of the house fit our family perfectly. We enjoyed a nice walk to the creek. The fire pit was also a hit. The fact that their was a mini-s[lit in every area was great. Regulating the temperature is usually a huge issue when we all stay together. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to stay at The Lodge.

Quiet secluded home
Nice house with plenty of room and space to play. On a primitive road but was easy to get to with a car. Every morning we would watch the deer play in the valley below. Would stay there again.

Loved the vibes of this place, and for the price we can't complain too much, but the freezer was broken along with the ice maker. Groceries we bought were melted the next day. The pullout in the living room either didn't work.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience – we're delighted that you loved our home! That said, we apologize for the issues you encountered, and we shared your comments with the local manager. They assured us that they checked the freezer and it is working as it should, but they will continue to monitor it for any issues. To clarify, the pullout feature of the living room sofa is not actually an advertised amenity. The home does have a queen-size pullout sofa bed on the bottom floor near the pool table, and this is listed among the home’s sleeping arrangements. It was checked and was functioning. We appreciate your feedback, as we view it as an opportunity to improve and hope we get another chance to host you in the future.

Serenity
This property was very comfortable and nestled in the woods. Very peaceful place to stay. Furniture was comfortable. Everything we needed was available, including cookware. There were even some games and toys for families with younger kids.
Every experience I've had with Vasca has been excellent. They don't try to make the home more than it is. If anything, they underrepresented with the photos.
Also, it's just all the little things that are available. They have tons of spices for you to cook with, really good cookware to use. There are plenty of additional pillows and blankets.
The property itself is gorgeous and secluded. We will definitely stay here again!

Could be nice
The house is in a fantastic location and could be a very nice place to stay, but it’s not being maintained by the corporate owner. Many things wrong in the home, including water damage in the basement which caused drywall damage, high humidity, and mold growth. The inattentiveness of whoever is responsible for maintaining the home is apparently oblivious to details such as the mismatched brands for the coffee maker and carafe…they don’t work together. These same details and more were reported to the corporate home owners, VACASA, but I haven’t heard from them whatsoever since.

Nice home with a big caveat
Beautiful 3-story mountain home with a great view located 2.5 -3 miles up a mountain on a partially paved narrow road. Additionally, the road has several sharp turns and lots of deep holes. NO ONE at VACASA told me about the road to get to the house despite calling to find out if the location was easily accessible. They did not inform me or is any information posted on the website. The locals drive about 40 mph on this road designed to fit only one car at a time in most sections. Silva is in the smokey mountains and there are many other homes that would suit my needs and had I known the anxiety associated to get to this home, I would have not chosen it. However, not being a local, I was uninformed. And when I contacted VACASA upon check-in, the response was "didn't you see how the location was on the map?" The address doesn't come until after one books so how is anyone to know? Very disappointed with this experience and would not recommend the company. Buyer beware is all I can say.

Hi Mara, we're glad you love our home. However, we apologize for the bad experience regarding the road that is leading to the property. We are dedicated to providing excellent guest service and will address this issue to meet our service standards. We hope you'll give us another chance to serve you better.
We had 100% difficulty reaching the "local" Vacasa office to determine if the house was in an affected area by Hurricane Helene and had Wi-Fi restored. I kept getting a Caribbean office, which was very frustrating.
We took our chances and made the trip. We arrived at 4:30 after receiving 2 notices that the unit was ready and clean for a 4:00 check-in. Once we came up a very (typical for this area) primitive road (which in most cases would require a 4WD, we found this beautiful home. However, there was a car there. Upon going to the door we were greeted with 3 small boys playing. Later a man and woman came and said they were cleaning the property, that it was last minute because of an emergency with the regular cleaner.
We had no issues while waiting for them to finish cleaning.
However when they left and we got unloaded I wanted to freshen up. The towels in the main bathroom had make up stains on them and were damp. I decided to wash them myself for my peace of mind. The washing machine was very dirty in the inner plastic ring and the dispenser drawer. I proceeded to wash the towels but it took all night for them to dry. The dryer does not heat up.
We reported this to the local agent (which we had not prior to the trip been able to reach). She said she would send someone out and compensate us.
Chairs in the den are NOT recliners as represented.
We will not use VACASA again. This house was nice and comfortable and a nice place to stay if the washer/dryer are fixed
