You and your guests will enjoy a memorable vacation in our family's renovated (2015) and fully furnished Matagorda Beach ocean-view condo on the Matagorda Peninsula. Our vacation rental property is located in the private, gated enclave of Bahia de Matagorda - adjacent to the Matagorda Nature Preserve and right across the Matagorda Dunes from the Matagorda Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Whether you are visiting Matagorda to enjoy the beach, sight-see, bird-watch, surf, kayak, paddle board, hike/bike, hunt/fish or just relax - you've found the perfect spot from which to do it all!

The resort community of Bahia de Matagorda is located 1 mile off of Beach Road along FM2031 - across the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway 7 miles south of the city of Matagorda. Matagorda Peninsula is located along the Gulf of Mexico between Galveston and Corpus Christi/Padre Island.

There is a ground floor covered, crushed granite patio with charcoal grill (with accessories, charcoal not provided) and DynaTrap mosquito system (helps reduce but does NOT eliminate mosquitos - we still recommend insect repellent). Adjacent to the driveway is a wide stairwell with solar lighting that leads to a large outdoor deck providing both living and dining options and beautiful views of the Matagorda Nature Preserve, Bahia de Matagorda catch-and-release lagoon, Matagorda Beach, Jetty Park and the Gulf of Mexico.

Upon entering our beach themed condo through the double French doors there is a dining area that seats four comfortably (additional granite breakfast bar seating for three). The main floor master bedroom has a king-sized bed, cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan and chest of drawers with flat screen with Amazon Fire Stick with Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video access should you have accounts with them (remember to log off after use). The main floor bathroom opens off the living area. A separate vanity and water closet area offer privacy. The water closet also features a shower/tub combination.

The granite-countered kitchen is fully equipped with electric range/oven, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, ice maker and full size refrigerator. Dishes, silverware, pots/pans and all necessary utensils are there for your use. The breakfast bar offers additional bar stool seating for three.

The living room offers a memory-foam sleeper-sofa with coffee table (perfect for playing games/cards - several are on site for your pleasure) and two additional comfortable, over-sized rocker/swivel chairs. There is a flat screen tv loaded with streaming apps to stream should you have accounts with them (remember to log off after use).

A real (not spiral like most Bahia units) staircase leads you upstairs to a very large second bedroom overlooking the living area with 2 queen size beds, large built-in chest of drawers, breakfast bar, closet, reading nook with refrigerator, flat screen Vizio HDTV with apps for your streaming pleasure, should you have accounts with them (remember to log off after use).

If the beautiful scenery and abundance of outdoor activities don't suit (or it's raining) we have plenty of entertainment options available. Games, cards and dominoes are available for your use. Should you choose to stay connected to the rest of the world; internet with WiFi is provided. Cell service is very good on the peninsula.

If you've never been to Matagorda there is a great from Texas Highways Magazine that does really sums up Matagorda's many charms.

PLEASE NOTE: You and your guests safety and security is of the utmost importance to us! Bahia de Matagorda is a gated community and this unit was stripped to the studs in 2015 and professionally re-wired and updated. Additionally there are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors located in the unit, a fire extinguisher and a fire escape ladder available in the third floor closet for emergency exit from the unit should they ever be needed. The unit also features state-of-the-art WiFi thermostats with humidity control to ensure you and your guests comfort. Although our unit is NOT handicapped accessible we do provide grab bars and anti-slip mats for the bathtub/shower.

Please note that effective June 24, 2020 the management company of the complex has banned all smoking in the island/pool area, no exceptions.
