One of a kind Lord of The Rings themed Hobbit House. With hidden surprises around every turn, you won't stop uncovering small details that will add to your enjoyment during your stay. Almost everything in the house was custom made by the builder. It definitely adds to the unique charm of the house. From the midieval doors with operable speak easy look throughs and whiskey barrel cabinets, you won't stop finding the hidden treasures around the house. Listen to the sounds of the stream steps from the front door while you relax on the roof top patio or 3rd floor deck while reading one of the several provided J.R.R Tolkien books. Take a hike on the nearly mile long private trail system through the mountain laurel and hardwood forest while crossing over the many bridges along the way. There are just too many things to highlight on this one. You really don't need to leave the property to create life long memories, but if you want to add to your scrap book, you are just an 8 minute drive to Pennsylvanias largest state park, Ohiopyle. With world class white water rafting, amazing water falls, miles and miles of hiking trails, and a beautiful little mountain town, you'll never put your camera away. If that's not enough, just 18 minutes away, book a tour of the world renowned Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater". If history is more your thing, a 7 minute drive will bring you to President George Washington's first battle at Fort Necessity's National Battlefield. The Laurel Highlands simply has too much excitement to list on one page.

Hat wonderful treat. The location was beautiful and scavenger hunt was such an incredibly fun little special thing to introduce you to the house and surrounding land. Lots of special Hobbit things all over to emerse you in the experience .
The house is exactly as described. Beautiful with lots of detail matching the style of the house. Every time you step out of the house you hear the water in the nearby stream making its way over the waterfall. Very tranquil setting. There is a spiral staircase to the 3rd floor that some might find difficult but the plus is if you pick that room (which I did), you get your own bathroom. Host also provided some extra touches to complement the stay. If in the area, I would definitely stay again.
Everyone enjoyed their time at this wonderful house and location. The kids really enjoyed the scavenger hunt. The house had amazing details and was very comfortable. I would recommend this house to anyone and would definitely stay again.
What an amazing place!! So much attention to detail, and perfect to celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday! We loved every minute, and can’t wait to go back!
Everything was amazing! They thought of pretty much everything. They were on top of messaging us about some things and checking on us. It was snow covered but the place was still absolutely adorable and worked out perfect. Can’t thank them enough and will be returning in the summer to be able to enjoy the outside.
First time using VRBO specifically for this place. My family stayed here and the attention to detail is amazing. Love the trails, love the set up, absolutely loved everything about the place.

The hobbit house did not disappoint! We were very impressed with all the little details. Plenty of activities to do on grounds and in the surrounding area! This place fit 3 adults and 7 teenagers comfortably. The trail with the scavenger hunt was a nice touch.

Even better than the pictures! Incredible attention to detail with the Hobbit theme. Great amenities and clear instructions for enjoying this unique place. The stairs were no problem for our crew, but might be for anyone with mobility issues or wandering little ones. Owner was prompt in responding to a few questions. A must for LOTR fans!

We appreciate the hospitality we received when staying at the Hobbit House. It was very clean, included lots of thoughtful things like light switch labels, help on how to make a fire in the pit, and showcasing local artists within the house. Communication was great. Thank you for the opportunity to stay here!
What an amazing place! We loved every part of the house and the property! Our kids had a blast doing the scavenger hunt and we enjoyed s'mores by the fire each night. The house had everything we needed and there were so many little hidden treasures. We hope to visit again soon!

What a great stay! The place is beautiful, clean, imaginative, fun, comfortable and every need a guest would have has been anticipated and attended to.
We had some much fun in and around the property. Bob and Nan (the owners) could not have been nicer. Highly recommend.
We visited here for my daughter’s 16th birthday. Everything was magical. The details were amazing. We noticed new details the entire time we were there. It was beautifully thought out and well executed. Thanks for having us! We wished we stayed for a whole week!

House was absolutely magical. The owners thought of every detail from the decor, to scavenger hunt on the house trials, and all the amenities for our stay. House was very private and close to Ohiopyle area (10mins). Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique adventure within the beautiful laurel highlands.
