We came to explore New River Gorge National Park. The house had plenty of room for us to spread out. We enjoyed using the ping pong table and hot tub. We would stay here again if we return to the area.
Clean, well appointed, comfortable beds. It was easy distance from town, park and waterfalls. Driveway was a little rough but pretty standard based on the roads we drove. Screened in porch was a favorite spot even on hot days was comfortable.
This property is beautiful! Definitely large enough space for nine adults. The hot tub was a requirement for our group and did not disappoint. The only complaint would be having no cell service or strong enough wifi when needed. Thank you so much for having us!! - The Gueltig Crew
We really enjoyed our stay over Bridge Day weekend. It had everything we needed and more. Between the lovely screened porch, spacious deck, firepit with plenty of seating and the hot tub, there was plenty to do. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had the basic necessities for the meals we made there.
Great place for our family. 6 adults and 3 under 3 years old. Kitchen well stocked for everything you need. Comfortable beds. We did need to bring pack and plays and high chairs as this is not provided. Our little ones loved all the space to enjoy. Hot tub was nice and enjoyed a bonfire. We all enjoyed our stay and time together as a family!
We (3 adults and 4 teenagers) used this as our landing spot for a weekend spent rafting with Ace Adventure. Location was central to our activities and had more than enough space for our group. We also did the bridge walk and Beckley coal mine tours and spent some time hiking. The only thing that I would urge caution with this listing is the driveway is not good for lower riding cars. My van made it but don’t know if anything that sits lower to the road will traverse the driveway. This would be typical of country setting in WV so not a knock on the property.
Home was very clean and spacious. Beautiful area with wildlife. Driveway was a little rugged but with 4 wheel drive it was doable. You mainly hang your clothes as there's no full size dressers. We bought a silicone spatula as to not destroy their pans. If the host would add a silicone spatula, cutting board and maybe a few glass mixing bowls that would be helpful. Most places I've stayed usually have rules printed out but Shane communicated easily by text. It would be nice if there was a place to hang coats as the place is so spacious i was misplacing things. Maybe some hooks down the hall. Overall great location!
add som add a few kitchen items
Lots of room in a country setting. A few minor issues.
This country barn home has plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the area. There is great room for the kitchen/dining/living room areas. There is a game room. 4 bedrooms. And 2 small bathrooms. The owner was very responsive and pro-active to let us know about a heating issue, which he resolved quickly. He gave us good information about local places to eat, and answer any questions we had. The driveway up a hill to get to the barn/home was deeply rutted, and we were lucky to have an SUV to clear the ruts and uneven areas. After our 3 days there, we got pretty good at knowing how to get around the worst parts. Just beware if you have a low riding vehicle, this could be a problem for you. This barn house was at one time a barn. Then converted to an office. That is why you will find a "reception area" as you enter! But there is a great screened in porch in the back and deck with a great hot tub. So, many positives...just consider the driveway going in and out.
