Outstanding View

Multiple decks to enjoy sun or shay all times of the day. Beautiful clean lake with lots of fish and places to explore with provided kayaks and paddle board. Beautiful well stocked kitchen with modern appliances. Tonnes of seating inside and out. Outdoor shower with a spectacular view is a must for everyone!!! Comfortable beds in spacious rooms with spectacular views of the lake. Host responded very quickly to any questions we had. Highly recommend!!!!

Mike has only good things to say about the cottage and the lake and the location. Not sure why he gave us only four out of five stars. Also do not know what we would need to do to obtain that extra star from him.

Great family get away!

The cottage was amazing and the lake was beautiful. Exactly like the listing, the cottage was fully stocked with everything you need, clean and spacious. My only negatives are the digital concierge we were told to refer on a regular basis to for check in, check out, wifi details etc. didn't exist and when I emailed twice about it I received no response - we were not able to access any wifi while we were at the cottage. The only other negative is the mattress in the bunkie, it is more like a mattress pad and is not possible to sleep on (I used one of the mattresses from the bunk beds). A real mattress should be put in there as it is a great space otherwise. Had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back again.

I am not sure why you did not get my return emails, because I sent them. I will have a back up wifi password on the fridge, next time. Perhaps that's why you did not get the messages. Nice.

Bad stuff first: the place’s heating was spotty and didn’t work for longer than an hour before the breaker would pop… no booklet telling us where, how and when for stuff like the dryer, heating, fans, fireplace. Fireplace flue was shut so when we first lit the fire, smoke was everywhere. Overhead fans never worked no matter what. The toilet downstairs was not screwed down so sitting on it was like a rollercoaster. At least it didn’t leak… There was no TV which might have been in the info but… still. Bit of a drag especially with two teenagers. The directions to the place were extremely unclear. It took us 4 tries to figure it out. The canoes were dirty and poorly kept as were the oars. The outdoor light tiki’s were empty and there was a dearth of logs for the fire pit and the fireplaces. Couldn’t find the CD player but did find the CD’s. The BBQ is a piece of crap… the igniter is broken and two the 5 burners didn’t light. Get a new one please. Now for the good: what a view!!! Amazing and beautiful! The place was clean and well kept. Nice decor though it was obviously a mix of ikea and winners. Still, very nice. Felt like a second home. Comfy beds and sheets. Lots of towels. Overall, I’d have to say this is a pretty good place. If they’d fix the above, it would be a totally amazing place The kids LOVED the separate building.

We pride ourselves on the quality of the rental experience we provide and will do our best to correct them as soon as possible. We are gratified by your positive remarks (Felt like a second home, etc.) towards the end of your feedback. Believe me, that is the sort of reaction we are more used to receiving from our Guests! Rustic Cove Getaway is a 3-season cottage. We had opened it up just a day or two before you arrived. Problems likely arose from the fact that we had rushed to open it up for you! As is our usual practice we sent you the URL for our extensive cottage Guest Guide to your personal cell phone number on May 22, a full two days before you were scheduled to check in. The Guest Guide contains detailed travel directions to the cottage, has an FAQ section, and describes many features of the cottage and the surrounding Val-des-Monts area. Please, if you did not receive the text message with the Guest Guide URL we would appreciate knowing so we can determine how and why our systems failed. I apologize for the problems you had with the heating and the flue in the fireplace. The flue is normally kept closed over the winter to keep out animals and debris. I would like to point out that I drove over early first thing in the morning, at 7:30 AM to sort that out for you. As I remember I left you with a nice fire to sit around. We will make sure the flue is left open from now on. We will be addressing the problems with the BBQ immediately. Thanks for pointing out the various problems you encountered. We are constantly upgrading our Guest instructions and the Guest Guide and will ensure it addresses the issues you identified.
