Pine Haven Cabin is a quaint retreat offering good fishing, lake fun, and beautiful views from a private lake lot. It’s perfect for your getaway week to the north woods. Enjoy our paddle boards, canoe, rowboat, and traditional wood-heated sauna. Cyclists will love the peaceful roads and nearby trails (two bikes are available).

Nestled in a quiet corner on Sand Lake, the cabin sleeps four adults or two adults with three children. Sand Lake spans 778 acres and features two islands that are popular fishing spots for northern pike, bass, and panfish. A pontoon can be rented, so inquire early to reserve it for your stay.

Other activities include hiking, sightseeing, and dining at establishments unique to the area. Allow plenty of time to explore everything the north woods of St. Louis County has to offer. Thank you for considering Pine Haven Cabin!

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Turn off the heat by switching the breaker in the north bedroom.
Put garbage in the bin on the north side of the cabin.
Make sure the canoe is pulled up on land, and all life jackets are in the sauna house.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin - it was peaceful and quiet. The cabin was clean and had what we needed. Not a complaint, but it would have been nice to know that the shower was not inside the house, but in the sauna building. We enjoyed the good selection of DVD’s and the outdoor areas.

We had the perfect week. Hung out at the cabin a couple of to rest from all the running...5 waterfalls, up to Canada twice, wolf sanctuary and the bear sanctuary. The lake is beautiful, sunrises were unbelievable, so quiet, so many stars. That cabin is wonderful and Steve and Jared were great. We had a couple of issues, nothing with the cabin, and they got back to us within a few minutes. Great hosts.

Great hidden gem

We absolutely loved it here!!!! Perfect set up, all the decking is nice and enjoyed the patio furniture!!! Lake is very close and secluded feeling. Could not see the neighbors at all. Would absolutely recommend this cabin.

Property was as advertised. Communication with owner and owner’s son was excellent. We enjoyed renting the pontoon boat from the owner’s son Jared and our conversation about the area including fish hot spots and dining spots. Did use the sauna which was nice.

Nice place by lake

Great communication, very accommodating. This was a cozy place by lake - we really enjoyed the sauna. House was clean and had everything you would need. Not a busy lake, and a canoe was available to use which was nice since we decided not to bring our boat this trip even though a nice dock was available.

Perfect

I was looking for a cozy place to relax a few days and this property was perfect! The weather wasn’t so nice that I took advantage of the canoe or paddle boat but they would be fun to use sometime too. The communication with the owner was great. I felt comfortable throughout my stay. I would whole-heartedly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away and find some peace and quiet.

Perfect Place

This little cottage was fantastic. It packed a lot into a quaint cabin. Spacious sleeping, detached sauna with dressing area and shower. The yard is perfect for games, very large and view of the lake was unbeatable. Nice outdoor furniture and fire pit. Hosts delivered all that was promised and more. Immaculate. Thank you!!!!

Cute cabin on a very quiet lake. We stayed for a week and rarely saw anyone. We really enjoyed watching the sunset in the garden swing by the lake. There were plenty of games inddor and out as well as other activities to keep us busy. The cabin itself is fairly small but had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. When an issue arose the host addressed it quickly and tto our satisfaction. It is an easy drive to Virginia and Ely with lots to do and see. I especially recommend the Soundan mine tour! We would stay there again.

We enjoy the outdoors, whether it is the north woods of Minnesota, or the pines of Colorado's mountains, and we love being by water. That is why this place is special to us: it combines the fun and quiet of the lake with the wilderness of Minnesota's north land.

Why they chose this property

The cabin is situated closer to the lake than most other cabins or houses. Sitting on the deck in the early in the morning, waiting to hear the loons is one of my favorite things.

What makes this property unique

We love the classic lake cabin feel of Pine Haven.
The lake has good fishing, and in most instances, you will not be competing with lots of boat traffic.
Experiencing the traditional wood-heated sauna and then cooling off in the lake is like nothing else.
