About this property
Winter Waterfront—Ice Fishing, Trails 5 mi!
Escape to Chalet on the Shore—your waterfront East Bay retreat on Houghton Lake with a phenomenal sandy beach, private dock & mooring buoy, and glowing west-facing sunsets. Refreshed with a new first floor bedroom layout and bathroom remodel, this 2023-remodeled true lakefront home blends up-north warmth with modern comfort and four-season fun. Perfect for boat-loving families, snowmobile crews, fishing trips, and friends’ getaways—with space to sleep up to 10 comfortably. Welcome to Chalet on the Shore!
Lake life, done right:
Spend carefree summer days boating, fishing, tubing, and paddling right from the shoreline. A private dock and seasonal mooring buoy make it simple to bring your boat (dock and mooring buoy installed approximately May 1–October 1). Launch a provided kayak at sunrise across glass-calm water, then wade into the gentle, sandy entry while the kids build castles on the large sandy beach. Wind down at the lakeside fire pit with s’mores or a glass of wine as the sky fades to tangerine, swap stories in the Adirondack chairs, and fall asleep to the gentle sounds of the lake—this is Houghton Lake at its best!
Lock in your dates and start planning your Houghton Lake getaway today—this home fills quickly in every season!
Cook, gather, unwind:
A chef-ready kitchen makes mealtimes easy, with full cookware, bakeware, prep tools, a coffee & tea station, coffee provided, and basic oils & spices. The open living/dining area lets the kids hang out or play upstairs while dinner simmers below. Quality bed linens, fluffy bath towels, and both propane and charcoal grills (propane provided, charcoal not) help you settle in quickly. Grill out on the patio and serve sunset dinners just steps from the water. In the evenings, cozy-up by the gas fireplace with hot cocoa and a movie on the Smart TV with streaming apps—perfect for unwinding after a day on the lake or trails.
Four seasons of fun:
Four seasons of fun: Enjoy boating, tubing, paddling, and swimming in summer, with Sun-chasers Pontoon Rentals about 5 miles away and your mooring buoy ready for simple tie-ups after a day on the water! Nearby ORV/snowmobile trails and crisp-air hikes keep adventurers happy, and Chalet on the Shore is open year-round with plowed access—bring your tip-ups to step right outside for ice fishing, or plan snowy sledding and trail-riding days. In winter, hit nearby snowmobile/ORV trails or cross-country ski by day, then warm up by the gas fireplace with hot cocoa at night.
