Overlooking Lake Arenal, this tranquil home on a hill provides views of 3 volcanoes, showcasing some of the most spectacular sunsets and sunrises you will ever see. Picture yourself enjoying a fresh cup of Costa Rican coffee while relaxing above the backyard garden, which not only provides a bountiful harvest, but attracts beautiful birds and animals for your viewing pleasure. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, but close to local attractions like Lake Arenal, Monte Verde, Arenal Volcano, and the natural healing hot springs in La Fortuna, just an hour from Casa Amarilla. There are local massage services and yoga classes to further immerse yourself into a state of relaxation.
If you are feeling more adventurous, there are tours for ziplining, horseback riding, and rainforest tours close to you! Lake Arenal is a premier location for world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding, allowing you to get out there and feel the wind in your face and water beneath your feet, adventure awaits!
The town of Tronadora has a small grocery store and a bakery, allowing you to use our fully stocked kitchen to prepare meals like Ticos and Ticas. Don’t feel like cooking? There are multiple restaurants within 15 minutes of your peaceful Costa Rican getaway. Joanie, the Caretaker of Casa Amarilla, can also provide you with homecooked meals, serving Plato Tipico (Typical Costan Rican Dishes) and help you shop for all your needs. Pura Vida!

Our stay at the Garden Villa.

The place is very large and spacious, well appointed and very clean. We will definitely be back. The temperature stayed below 30° for our stay which made it a good transition from winter to the high 30s temperatures at the coast. The view is stunning.

Great location.

Great location for touring the lake and waterfalls. House very spacious with views of the lake from every room. Slightly bizarre with one red floor tile throughout and all kitchen and bathroom units matching. Kitchen sink in each bedroom. Showers good but no hot water in basins. Light switch yards from the bed in my room. Property manager outstanding; came over very late to deal with water problems. Very good value. The big draw back is that the house is part of a working farm. Chickens and bull start out at 4am, dogs bark on and off all night. Would kill for a good nights sleep. Sorry. But…hummingbirds in the garden!

Richard, Thank you for your thoughtful review. To clarify a few points, the property is NOT part of a working farm, though thank you for pointing out it is surrounded by two small local farms adding to the uniqueness and calmness of life on the hill. The property is smack in the middle of nature. Animals of the farms do start early as do the howler monkeys and birds that welcome the new day. The pups across the way strive to do what they consider is their job to " secure" the area. Not sure what the issue of no hot water in the basins was during your stay but hot water has been restored in every outlet. Again thank you for your review, you left property in top form.
